For my 1000th post a set of barrels including broken ones.

I know there are various barrels around but I thought I would have a bash at modelling / rendering my own.

Ignore the perspective on this render - just for show.

Six very slight slight variations as all the spars were UV mapped and the barrel rotated - all six in the zip below

F9B_Barrels_side_ae.zip

Six top down perspective

The zip for these:

194_barrels_top_ae.zip

A stack of 5 barrels

Three smashed variants

Zip for the stack and smashed barrels

29F_Barrels_side_multi_ae.zip

Time allowing I may do another set of barrels with a different wood.

Enjoy

ae

You're right - there's plenty of barrels and stacks of barrels around - but I lack barrels with contents and smashed barrels in my collection. And these are GREAT! Love 'em.

Excellent barrels! You can never have too many barrels or crates, especially if
you ever want to do a warehouse map. The smashed barrels are particularly
useful, since I don't think I had any before this.

Happy 1000. Looking forward to 2000, now.

Do I see a barrel of coins there? That has to be enough money to buy your very own kingdom.

Great stuff!

Fantabulous aegean! Great model! What are you using?

Oh, and welcome to the One Thousand Club (you'll be getting your decoder ring and notification of subscription to the "cheese of the month" club anytime now). Now just do it 13 more times and we'll promote you to Kep's position ... and you'll get a lot more cheese.

As the PC's in my game usually find out, it is the barrel full of coal with a thin layer of Gold Pieces on the top.

Love this. I could have used the broken ones on Friday's map. Don't think we've got anything like it. Thanks.

@Pedrov

The barrel seemed like an easy thing to do - plus the threads were lacking a broken barrel - then it just got very uneasy, so respect to people that have done barrels before. Anyway, things I used....

Barrel created in Hexagon2

UV maps run through UV mapper (free version)

Maps produced in PS using a picture from CG textures

Then rendered in Vue6

Then back into PS for post work such as dpi, dropshadow and converting to *.png

I just read back over that list.....

I must be mad

ae

Makes me anxious for the next time Hexagon goes on sale.
