Thanks, Totte! That looks like it took awhile to make.

I did it using OmniGraffle (awesome app for all you Mac OS X users out
there), so it was quite reasonable timewise.

I used many pre made items from here (hence the long file name), and
made a group of a bunch of items, then duplicated that group, rotate,
dup, mirror-rotade dup etc etc. Used some of my covers also to drop
behind it.

OmniGraffle works with images as objects, and has layers and order of
objects within each layer. Thats why I use it for all object adding to all my
maps (and layers can be hidden of cause to easy editing).

No, I dont work for them, I just love that piece of code.

Wow, this is like the best thread ever!

I usually work in a lower resolution so unfortunately few of my things are going to be useful here but I can throw out some ideas to keep the ball rolling:

* Stacked crates (to make a warehouse like the end of raiders of the lost ark)

* crowds of humans for a busy day in the market

* Tables of armor (we may need more armor images around here)

* Murder Scenes

* Forge

* Dragon Hordes/Treasure Piles

* Scattered garbage/refuse

* Scattered bodies (for a battlefield)

* Bookshelves with books (as per previously posted shelves.

* Basic Temple with altar, pews, statues etc

* Alchemist's lab

* General Store (Bit of everything)

* Burial chamber with grave goods (think Tutankhamen)

* Here's a list of medieval professions, many of whom still need tables http://pbem.ax2groin.com/profs.html

* Siege equipment stations (ammo, spare weapons, tools to fix yer catapult. (tower optional)

* Saw mill / carpentry worksite

For the brave souls making tables, table contents without the actual table would be invaluable. That way we can throw your contents .png onto a table of our choice and then we're set (er preset as it were), dm142 did with the card table/poker game.

Keep up the good work guys!

I just had an idea for some presets. It's really more of a request, since the most I'll ever be able to actually contribute here will be Dundjinni maps populated with stuff created by you brilliant artists.

Has anyone done any floor presets? What I mean by that is some huge freaking 40'x40' or so floor stamps that we, the great artistically challenged proletariat, can plunk down in Dundjinni to design maps on top of.

I got the idea after looking closely at the floor of a basement map SC designed for me. I wanted to do something approaching that level of detail, realism, and randomness for a map I'm designing... but holy crap! Even using many of the beautiful floor tiles I've found on these forums, it would take me AGES to smudge, customize, and otherwise tweak a floor long enough to make it that realistic. And it still wouldn't be nearly as good. This got me to thinking... What if I could just grab that floor and stamp it down on my map and build my dungeon on top of it!

So how about it? I was sure that someone had already come up with the idea, but I couldn't find any on the forums. Anyway, just a thought I had!

DJ might have a hard time with 40' x 40' stamps, and I think floors HAVE to be 200 pixel squares to work properly.

A lowest quality, fully white stamp of 6400x8000 pixels (jpg) is already about 850Kb and a simple grass stamp at full quality (also jpg) is 88Mb ... So I don't recommend using full map sized stamps.
You need a pretty powerful PC to use stamps like that.

but what if you only did a 40'x40' floor? that would only be 1600x1600 pixels at 200px = 5'? a .png of that size only weighs in at around 1 to 3mb, depending on the complexity. i'm sure it could get bigger if there's a ton of color variation, but is this too large

Nope, I use loads of pieces like that. They have enough variety and are small enough. If you like to use them as background (floors), you best pick a properties file you don't use for anything else or for very few pieces. I prefer Treasure. That way you can still erase stuff without hurting the background

The best solution for floors that big is to make them in photoshop....taht is waht I do...I lay my doors and walls in dundjinni...windows If needed be..than I stop right there. I put a solid color for the floor like a very aggresive blue and then export the map...when the map is in photoshop I just delete the falshy blue color and then I do my floor on a layer under it...then I start populating my map in photoshop bridge...its taking more time in photoshop for sure......but still you can choose a shadow setting for all objects..do color mods, filters and so on.....love to do my map in photoshop but still it's 5 times more time consuming than doing them in dudnjinni!
From begginer to intermediate dundjinni is really by far the best way to map....when you get at expert level you want to play with every single objects and shadows and all sorts of stuff.....so dundjinni is still the best solution for you Jeremy....patience is your first weapon for becoming a master mapper...
taking your time is what makes a map truly unique
and plus if you dont know photoshopp well then you are in trouble...
You can still create some floors in photoshop blend the side with some feathering and save them in png..after that you save them in the covers folder.....there you go you now have your floors as you want them!

go for it, ae! let me just get my helmet on!

actually, my biggest concern was making something that no one would be able to use. it sounds like a pretty good idea: make a preset floor that can be dropped in any room 40'x40' or smaller. if 3mb isn't too large some might find items like that pretty useful. if we could get cisti to post a few of his phenomenal floors i know they'd find their way into my maps!

Well I'm better then cisti
Lolll Kidding..yeah cisti is really the floor master I have to admit!
Still we could have plenty of choice if presets were made....would have to be hosted elsewehere to be able to post things that Huge...I have like 50 already done....but still don't feel like posting all of them loll.
But if someone feels like it than hihhhhhhhhaaaaaa that would be great for sure !
Thansk for making this thred one of the most popular on the site..its been some time since the last preset..who's next ???
