Excellent. Just one thing, though, how come the Willow cuts off like that and will you be re-posting one without that?

Yay! The missing link for outdoor maps. I can use plenty more trees.

Thank-you!

Thanks!

My intent is to do about 3 or 4 variations of each one. Though I think that may be a medium term goal.

I'm hoping to spill over into the flowers/plants/crop area as well, but I have not had that much luck with that area.

These trees are almost the quality of those in WILD.

Multiple variations of the palm tree would be especially welcome. These trees are fantastic. Thanks Much!

I agree.
Some questions -

what are you using to create them?

Can you do a palm that is bent outward / leaning or windswept?

Great job again..

As far as palms, yes, I will be doing some bent outwards and leaning.

Creating them is about a mix of 4 programs. One of the best I have found for creating trees is Carrara 3d Studio. (It has a tree lab that lets you manipulate about any aspect ... I know, I know, its cheating... but I love the results.). Then I take into Illustrator, Canvas, and/or Photoshop.

Each tree takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Not to bad, most of the time is spent waiting for rendering of lighting techniques.

2nd Palm tree... (not happy with the bent one, but I'll keep trying.)

It's not cheating when you come up with results like this. Good job!!!!!

Larch:

Another style... (messing around trying to find ways of creating the flowers/crops/plants thing).

This is the last tree for a while, I'm going to be doing the variations of each and seeing what kind of filesize mess I get into. (Most likely I'll post the variations on my website to help with bandwidth here .)

I was trying so hard to avoid this, but if you keep this up expect the Spanish Inquisition. [Same episode, I believe.]

Okay, just finished off some more trees. So far 22 in total. I'm still working on making some larger trees. (Most of these weigh in at 10x10, and scale up okay to around 175% or so.) I've placed them at my website, with the first collection zipped at 3 MB, and the second zipped at 2 MB.

I've also copied Cecil's lead and have the User-art that he has zipped up there as well. (To help save on bandwidth here, Cecils', and anywhere else.)

Go here for the downloads: User-Art and Trees

Larger Trees now available: (Only 3 at this time.. Late Fall, Early Fall, and Summer).

Here is a smaller version of a Late-Fall tree. The full size version is approx. 1.1 MB.

This last tree looks a little too symmetrical for me, but it looks absolutely fantastic with all the foilage filled out.

Thanks for posting the other large trees too! It will make a big difference on some of my maps.

Please keep us updated when you post new ones on your webpage too. (and thanks again!)

Cecil, not a problem.

I trying to create some 'dead' trees like the one above that is less symmetrcial, but I seem to be falling in the rut with these. I'll keep plugging away though.
