I am new to the DM thing(Dungeons and Dragons), and I want to start generating my own maps in large scale as well as small 1" player maps. The large maps will also fit into the 1" grid format. I went into the products page, and there are a LOT of different items in there, and I want to know which one is the best as far as making D&D maps without needing tons of add ons. Later I will get all the updates, etc. but for now I need the most expansive set. Help me Obi Wan, etc. etc.

Slyness,

The obvious D&D artpacks are excellent. Castle, Wild, Temple and ? I'm not sure which ones come with the software itself.

That said, the art that is available on the forums makes the artpacks almost obsolete. Over 50,000 pieces of art. However, most of it does not touch the quality of the artpacks.

There is the CSUAC which is basically a zip of all the artwork that has been produced here. While there is still work to be done to unzip it all into place, it is shorter than downloading everything yourself.

Good luck and make sure to post your maps on the Maps Forum.

Welcome aboard slyness41

DJ comes with the Dungeon and Wild packs.
Although there are more pieces of art than you will probably ever need on this forum, I would recommend buying the Castle-Village-Temple pack if you have some extra cash laying about
You should probably check out some of the archives dDA mentioned first though
