Hi everyone...I am just learning 3d and here is my first attempt...I had problems with the light in VUE* but still I think it deserves a place to sit here in the forums...so let me share it with you...feel free to make some new colors textures effects...
Here is the 4 horses statue...
Sorry if it's not that great..but still it could be useful!

Now you just need one with a blend of those two colors to give it that corroded copper look

I don't know what version of Vue your using but try this atmosphere when you render.
And use a more matt material - start with a stone texture possibly.

Nice statue SC. If that is your first attempt, I think we've got to be prepared
to get blown away ;-)

Ouch SC, those are a lot of questions to ask LOL
I suggest you visit GeetAtPlay.com and go through their tutorials. believe me, you will learn a lot in no time
Not a bad render for your first time.
Short answers:
atmosphere changes -> there is a lot you can change about the atmosphere. From lighting, clouds, mist, sun height, shadowing, etc, etc, etc.
transparent background -> of course. Render as PNG and activate the transparent background. But you need to follow some tutorials to see exactly how
can you create your own material with jpegs -> yep, jpg/png/bmp/etc/etc. Also handled in the tutorials.

Maybe you will get results more easily with Daz3d rather than with Vue. Unless, of course, you are planning on creating your own models.

@SC
The atmosphere is very much overhead without massive midday glare - so that the shadows on the object itself are not very directional. Its one of my atmospheres that I tend to use.
What version of Vue are you using?
