I wish I had better news, but I still don't know what is going on. I just hope Mindy lets us know what is going on as soon as possible.

I can imagine that it is annoying. Especially since there is nothing to say.
isn't it possible to buy the dundjinni main program from another site? The forum is operational, so additional help with problems can be covered.
...or is that a too simple way to solve the problem?

That's not really a solution, I'm afraid. You can buy DJ from sites like
RPGNow.com, but you will get the old version (v1.0.4, I think), which won't
work right on most Windows PCs until the customer can get the Full Install
of DJ v1.0.7.

i see.
so updating the older version 1.04 to 1.07 in the webstore(s) isn't possible?
that would solve at least some of the problems... unless the information needed to update the files is also unavailable... then it would be a little more difficult.

The update from 1.04 to 1.07 post installation is feasible and it works (sort of). The trick that makes it all work, so I am told, is in the 1.07 installer which is currently unavailable from any source.
I have the problem (1.04 bought from DriveThruRPG and subsequently patched to 1.07) and am waiting on the 1.07 installer to see how well the magic works :)

if they update the drivethru 1.04 to 1.07 then you would be able to download it and use it.

Correct, but I suspect that the resellers such as DriveThruRPG, RPGNow etc are having the same communication blackout as we are :(

yeah. i guess. ah well. the dundjinni software is well worth the money, the wait...
it's as it is. the software is protected by serial number. so if one has the 1.07 package one could just contact the drivethru rpg and update the 1.04 to 1.07 version. However, i can imagine that only specific persons can do that.
But what if in worst case the person who should do it is in the hospital? (not worst case, but for a childbirth or something?) a company loosing customers and getting a bad name is not good.
... :-/ i guess i have blablabla-ed enough. before they appoint me a forum troll or worse :) i'll wait and hope for the best!

Well Arpat and Unclepete, as another long term user here, trying to help out as best I can, I have to say I appreciate your understanding and concern. To many other people are getting frustrated and negative. We are all doing the best we can, and I thank you.

Hi Bogie - no problems. I can afford to be patient because I have seen that Dundjinni will do EXACTLY what I need. It's doubly frustrating when I get this close and still get stonewalled <sigh>
I'm on day 5 of waiting after posting a message to the shop. I'll have time to go looking for an alternative on the weekend, so that will probably be the limit of my patience.
I know I've already said it, but it needs restating - the DJ community rocks. Unfortunately, the community should not have to support a commercial product.
