Hi all,

Bogie was able to send me his installer of DJ v1.0.7, since I lost mine during a disk crash a while ago.
I am now able to provide this installer to those of you who want to update from older DJ versions to the full installer of DJ v1.0.7. This will only be done while the Store is out.

Please post a line in this thread and send me your original purchase information for Dundjinni. Use a valid email address, since I will use that to create a download invitation. If you haven't received an invitation in say three days, send me a reminder or post a reminder in this thread.

I have already informed Eric of Ptolus and UnclePete about this and they will probably get the first invitations

Please don't ask me for DJ v1.0.7 if you haven't bought Dundjinni before or have lost your purchase information. I am sorry, but I can't help you and you will have to wait until the Store is open again.

I am trying t Install Dundjinni on my Newest computer running vista.. Been a year or two since I last used DJ...

I had version 1.0.4 and I am trying to update through the updates going from .4 to .5 to .6 to .7 ... But I am stuck trying to up[date from 1.0.4 to 1.0.5

Do I need a a fresh version of a later version to get it to work right? It keeps telling me that I need version 1.0.5 and that it doesn't exists on my hard drive.. I even tried installing it in another location.

Any help would be appreciated...
Also would it work better if I installed to my windows 7 laptop?

You need the full install of DJ ver 1.0.7. The upgrades do not work well on Vista or 7. Go to the beginning of this thread and see Kepli's posts about emailing him so he can set up a download link for you.

You only need the sbd02_pc archive. The others were placed there by other people who got invited to download Dundjinni v1.0.7.
Thanks for those files guys

What old objects? Propriety art or user art?
The folder structure should have a ..\Map\Fantasy\User\Cover folder for instance. Is that also there in your case?

And I have alot of both user art, freee art downloaded from the sites over the years and some of the art packs I bought.

mind sending them to me (I use Dropbox), let me know

This is outside the realm of my expertise, but here is a solution that some others have found useful:

***************************************************
You can find your registration keys in the registry of your windows machine. (If you have installed it before)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dundjinni Enterprises\Dundjinni

In this location, you can find the registry key of dundjinni, memory settings and keys of other dundjunni software. I believe the format is something like:
xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

******************************************************

More info at this Post Click Here

NOTE: BE VERY CAREFUL POKING AROUND IN THE REGISTRY UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, YOU CAN MESS UP YOUR COMPUTER BAD IF YOU CHANGE THE WRONG THING.

Thanks for the suggestion Bogie, but the registry
information appears to be lost. This most likely occurred
when I upgraded my machine to windows 7 - which is the
same time I lost the installed version of Dundjinni.

So from what I have been able to read on these forums,
the registration id is available from the order tracking
page, unfortunately, that page will be unavailable until
the store portion of the website is back up and running.

Is that correct? I know this has been asked alot, but
what is the latest estimate of when that might happen?

That is correct. There was once an estimate of one or two weeks to get the
Store running again, but those deadlines have long since passed and now
things seem to be more uncertain.

Mindy is dealing with a very serious family crisis. She told Kepli she will resolve the store problem when she returns, but that it could be 3 to 4 weeks (and that was just an estimate, not a timeline). I know it's tough having to wait, but it is nothing compared to what she is trying to deal with.

Hello everyone..Happy New Year, new to digital gaming arena. Been working with Battlegrounds (great product) thanks heruca...I need now to create some custom maps instead of using the LFR RPGA pre-mades. I bought Dundjinni many years ago at GenCon but never used it. Now I am running a digital game using Battlegrounds and a LCD TV for my map ; I need to use Dundjinni for my home game.
I have 1.04 with the upgrades to 1.07 which did not work properly but I guess I need the full version of 1.07 to run on Windows 7 64 bit. Any help would be helpful.

Thanks

Sent you an email. Not sure what you need exactly, or even if I can use it since this computer doesn't have the original on it, because it's been some time since I've had to make a map.

Thanks!

Hi Kelpi

it's been aaaages since I've been on here, but I tried to install my copy of Dundjinni on my win7x64 box and of course it doesn't work properly.

I have my order number - is that enough to get the link to the 1.0.7 full installer?

We are hoping it will be open by the end of the month (Jan), but it depends on a real life crisis affecting the person who owns and operates the store.

Welcome to the forums zahaa

Have been looking at Dundjinni and am seriously thinking about buying it but as has been mentioned the store seems to be closed. I have no clue how to get it anywhere else or for that matter who I would sent the money to for it. If any one can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the Forums Teegra!

As you have read the store is down, I don't know of any other way to buy Dundjinni. If you happen to find it for sale on some other site, or in a Game store be sure it is Version 1.0.7   The older versions will work well on an XP machine as long as you delete the current version of Java and go back to Java Version 1.5.

Best advice is to wait for the store to reopen. We are hoping for some time in the next 2 or 3 weeks, but we don't know for sure.

Hopefully you will be mapping soon!

Sent some information your way Kepli! I've been gone quite a while. I have been running some world of darkness campaigns that we didn't use maps for.

I'm back now, and hoping to get some awesome maps made! I need a download for my new computer though!

Hi Kepli,

I moved from XP to Windows 7 and would like to continue Dundjinning.

I've emailled the Kepli address (the one on page 5 of this thread) with the original install key and date.

[I still have the ZIP of the Modern Art Pack I bought and copies of the user made objects, which should be easy enough to stuff back into place.]

Thanks in advance!

I am still waiting for the Store to come back online. I have a game design project that has been on hold for a couple of months waiting to get the software reloaded after a full system crash.

Frustrating, but I may have to migrate to Campaign Cartographer and I would really rather not. :(

Send your info to Kepli and maybe he can help you. You will need your registration keys to activate the program. If not. then only the store can help unfortunately. If you do have them email to keplisire (at) yahoo.com

Unfortunately. I do not have the keys. When my computer fried it took out primary drive and backup drive. I do not have the registration keys.

Had a dialogue with Kepli on this awhile back and he indicated I need the store. I have waited for the store to come back online a reasonable time, but there is no indication when it will be back online. Very disheartening. :(

Thanks Kepli,

Textures are now showing on the installed full version.
However, I'm now having issues with installing the art
packs. It's saying that it can't an installed version of
the application.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

I am also in this same holding pattern, awaiting
the store to come back online so I can acquire the
art packs (Castle and Village, I think) that are
compatible/required to use with version 1.07.

Eric, I understand that there is some nice art in those artpacks, but if you have DJ working, what's holding you back?
At most there are a few hundred objects and tiles in those packs, here on the forums there are over 50,000 user created pieces available to you. If you need something specific, use the search function or ask us and we'll find it or make it for you.

There's that, (the fact I bought 'em), and the
fact I have dozens of maps already created that
are now a disappointing sea of black smudges
with red questionmarks.

Yeah, I see your point.

I was also hoping that there might be someone out there who had the latest versions of the artpack on their hard drive. (hint hint) If they got them to Kepli he could provide them the same way he is doing the main DJ program.

Sorry, but only Mindy has access to the store and the token packs. We had hoped that she would be returning by the end of January but apparently she is delayed. All we can do is wait until her family crisis is resolved.

I've just re installed the main program and modern streets art packs but the textures/objects for the fantasy set are not visible but the art pack displays fine. I've tried with v1.07 update and also without. Any help greatly appreciated.

Just sent an email to kepli so I can upgrade. It's been YEARS since I've used Dundjinni, so I'm looking forward to re-educating myself in map-making.

I don't mean to be a downer here, but when is the store issue likely to be resolved. I have been trying to use my software since November and I STILL cannot work on my game design projects. My co-developers are getting weary of me making excuses for not having the maps done.

(1) IS there any definitive idea when the store issues will be resolved so I can proceed with our cartography projects?

(2) If the answer to number (1) is no, is there any plan to establish a contingency for resolving these issues?

I am trying to be patient, really I am, but this is getting VERY frustrating.

Please help!

Sorry guys, I wish I had some news of any kind but I haven't heard anything. Kepli has emailed Mindy a couple of times and I'm sure he would have let us know if there was any progress.

I have to assume that Mindy's family crisis has not come to a conclusion. Out thoughts are with her and hope she can return soon.

I know it's not a good solution, but as a temporary help maybe some of us regulars here could help you guys by making some maps for you? I'd be happy to volunteer.

Welcome back Talarius!

If someone wants to assist that would be appreciated. Our only map right now is a prototype of a piece of bristol board with markers and stickers. :)

This would best be handled by email, I presume. How should I proceed?

Hi Kepli,

I also just sent you an e-mail request for the installer.

(if there is a different one for Win 7, I need that one as that is what I upgraded to after the crash).

Thanks very much

Here's a short diatribe of my situation.

I found all my original artwork (Castle, Village, Temple) in a zip file I created before attempting a re-install. Which is good as the uninstall wiped them out. The .djx files have key (looks like registration/license values) values embedded in them. I installed them but the art work for the packs doesn't show up. The names do, though.

I got an executable jar file with these packs from a friend but it will not accept my original license key. I tried cracking into the jar, yanked out the ZIP files for castle, village, and temple, and unzipped those into the appropriate folders. The names show up, the images do NOT. WHY DOES IT NOT TAKE MY ORIGINAL KEY !!??

I tried uninstalling and installing to a folder whose path does NOT have a space like "Program Files". Kepli thought this might help, hey, I'm up for anything. No dice.

I wonder if anyone knows what the AddKeys registry value does. Seems the AppKey is used to hold the license key. Does everyone get the SAME JAR or is the jar pre-constructed with DJX files that have keys based on the buyer's name ? To keep people from sharing files and stuff ?

So, here I sit capable of generating new maps (Goth Gulgamel !) but I cannot open all my old ones, which made COPIOUS use of the castle, temple, spells, and village artwork.

Thanks for listening to my rant !

The Tech Stuff is above my pay grade...

Kepli has been able provide some of the artpacks recently, try emailing him again to see if he has anything you can use.

So. If your art doesn't show up and you have a vaild installation key, try this.

Uninstall any Java Runtimes or Development Kits after JDK 1.4.2_02. Then install Java 1.4.2_02. Proceed with installation, I started from 1.0, through 1.0.1, 1.0.2, ... up to 1.0.7.

Now, not only do Dungeon and Wild art icons appear, I now have Castle, Village and Temple. *and there was much rejoicing*

If anyone can point me to an installer for the Spells, I'd be grateful. I can't find my original installer and bought that one some time after my initial purchase. The large items are .PNG files which show up but the objects, walls, cover do not.

It is now April and I still cannot get my license issues resolved after 5 months. I really appreciate the efforts and assistance of one of the kind members here who is doing work on one of our projects.

The trouble is that I have additional projects in the queue and it appears that there is NO HOPE of getting a license issue resolved. Can someone give me a faint glimmer of hope that the Dundjinni STore / License issues are going to get resolved soon or do I have to scrap any commitment I have to using this product and find another product with better support structures in place.

Sorry for the rant, but I am VERY frustrated that I cannot run this software and it appears that there is no channel available in front of me to resolve the issue.

I am trying to be both reasonable & patient, but I honestly cannot continue to wait an indefinate amount of time for a resolution that may or may not manifest with little to no communication about if or when that resolution could occur.

*end rant*

I think people have been very patient sofar and I really appreciate that. The problem is that this is all outside my sphere of influence and the only one who can help is Mindy. Unfortunately she seems to be out of reach atm and has been for months now.
This means the sales part of DJ has come to a halt and because the license keys are on the same domain, those are unavailable as well. I am unable to generate license keys myself.
Sofar I have been able to help people with upgrading to DJ v1.0.7 and with getting v1.0.7 versions of some of the art-packs. But we all understand that only works for people who bought DJ before the Store closed ...

We can only hope Mindy shows up soon ... <sigh>

Thanks for the reply Kepli:

Just to be clear, I already had a purhased copy. I had a computer failure that took out my main PC and backup drive. I was just trying to reconstruct what I had.

Am I to understand that all past purchase records and all future purchase capability reside with one person with zero redundancy? Does not strike me as a very good risk mitigation strategy.

Can another license number from an existing install be used as a temporary measure? Are there any licenses in escrow?

I do not know how the company is organized, but surely someone somewhere can be found with some creative solutioning and accountability to the ongoing operation of the business. This whole thing strikes me as very odd...

My understanding of the history is that DundJinni was created by Fluid Entertainment, a small computer game company. A few years ago, they were not putting much effort into supporting DJ so one of their employees, Mindy purchased DJ. Initially, Mindy was able to do a lot for the program. She upgraded it to the 1.0.7 version that we need for Vista and 7. And she was developing a new more powerful version DundJinni 2.0
Unfortunately, Mindy is DundJinni Enterprises, there is no one else. We know that she has had a grave family emergency and I suspect she may have had some personal and or financial problems as well.
And as Kepli said we have no access to that side of the Website. So sadly we to wait and hope that Mindy's fortunes improve so that she can help us.

Thank you for the information.

I hate to hear that people have bad family situations, I can empathize. Hearing that this is a 1 person show has given me the information I require.

I think I will migrate to another product. I do not want to build a dependancy on software that is a house of cards. Who knows what issues may arise when this one is solved.

Thanks for the info, I hope the product has a long and vibrant life. I no longer have the appetite for the risk.

As Douglas Adams would say...
"So long, and thanks for all the fish." :)

Nice Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy quote

A shame you have to let go of DJ, but understandable. Hope you will still visit the forums to chat and find new art

Try using "retailuser" (or whatever is printed on the label) as the username,

I have my old registration key but I don't know from where to download the registered version- and I don't see a "Register" button in the new demo- I lost my old computer that has this on it, but thankfully I still had a copy of the Install.Log file with my credentials in it. I can't seem to get into the store to find a new download link, either, please help!

Welcome to the Forums tenchimod

Unfortunately the "Store" side of the website has been down a long time. We were told it would be re-opened in January, but that has come and gone. The moderators and administrators here at the Forums are just long time users who are trying to help as much as we can, but we have no access to the store side.

There are more than 70,000 maps and art pieces here, so take some time and look around. The "search" function near the top of the page is very helpful if you are looking for something specific.

Keep your fingers crossed and if we are lucky the store will be back soon.

Mindy is the only one with store access and she hasn't been around for a while. Until she sorts out her personal life we can't do much about the store.

Thanks for the offer of help, maybe she will get this message.

Hi

I wanted to buy the Dundjinni Tool but the shop is down. Well is there a way to buy the software anyway?

Thanks

Welcome to the Forums Halfast.

Unfortunately the answer is no. For more info, read the posts at the top of this page if you haven't already.

We have no way of generating the registration keys that are required to install the software so we have no way to sell you the program.

So until the Store reopens, there is no way to buy the program.

You can email Kepli to get the download to install the latest version of Dundjinni, but it won't install without the unique registration key code and he doesn't have access to the store records where your original one was stored and he can't generate new ones.

You can try contacting him directly at:

      kepli.sire (at) yahoo.com

Fantastic! I misunderstood that you had lost even that. Kepli should be able to help get back online soon.

Keep in mind he is in the Netherlands and may not see your email till Friday.

Be sure to provide him all the info as well as info on any artpacks you purchased. The free ones are still available from the forums.

I'm assuming I'm having a similar problem as everyone
else.
I've been out of mapping for a while and reinstalled DJ,
only to find I can't see any textures for creating maps.
I've posted a screen shot of what I (don't) see. The
window
just remains blank.

I'll email my info to Kepli as well... but if what I'm
experiencing is something else, can somebody let me know?
I'm running Vista x64...

I got the spells art pack, thanks !

I have no record of the license key for the purchase (I sent you my records, the two emails that are a proof of purchase) but where would the license key be ? I tried entering the key for my original purchase (DJ plus the packs) and keep getting...

This is not the correct registration key.
It may be entered incorrectly, or it may be the key to a different product.
Please enter your key exactly as shown in the registration information you received with this product.

I am not sure how to proceed. I ran regedit and the original key is in the registry, under Dundjinni Enterprises->Dundjinni.

Okay, so maybe I'm the luckiest S.O.B. around ... I checked the installation of my old original DJ (the one
that crapped out on me last November and just stopped working) - I saved all the folders to a flash drive to make it easy to bring over to my new 64-Bit Windows 7
laptop.

There in all its naked glory was the crash file left
by Dundjinni on October 24th, 2010 - its name is,

hs_err_pid3168

For grins-'n-giggles I cracked it open and about 175 lines down the 200 line file, what do I see ? WHAT DO
I SEE ?

.
.
.
VM Arguments:
jvm_args: -Xmx1024m
java_command: C:\PROGRA~1\Fluid\DUNDJI~1\dundjinni.version.1.0.7 C:\PROGRA~1\Fluid\DUNDJI~1 1 Eric Blische XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX YYYY-YYYY-YYYY-YYYY-YYYY
Launcher Type: SUN_STANDARD

Environment Variables:
PATH=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem ;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin;C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Shared;C:\Program Files\UltraEdit;C:\Program Files\Apache\apache-ant-1.6.5\bin;C:\Program Files\Common Files\DivX Shared
USERNAME=Eric
OS=Windows_NT
PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER=x86 Family 6 Model 9 Stepping 5, GenuineIntel
.
.
.

I see the license key for my first install (XXXX...) and the subsequent one I got from ... who knows where (the store web page?) for the Spells Art Pack (YYYY...) !!

Looks like the Dundjinni tool must pass them in as command line parameters at start-up ? I don't know where it pulls them from. Maybe my old registry had the second registration key stored under the AddKeys registry entry under the DundjinniEnterprises

I typed the second one in and was able to re-install the Spells Art Pack.

So, my friends with missing keys, your old keys might be lurking in an old hs_err_pid file ... I hope this helps someone out there, some-how, some-way !!

Wow, the counter has reached 72.
That means that 72 of you needed an upgrade to DJ v1.0.7. (sofar).

Hope all of these people are happily using DJ now. We would all like to see what you create, so please post your maps in the Maps forum.

Kepli,

I sent an email to webmaster requesting the v1.07 Download link.

I have purchased several upgrade packs online.

My original software was a retail version from the Socal Gencon where
the software launched.

Hoping you can help me so I can install on my vista machine.

Thanks

So, I bought a retail version of the software off of e-bay. It's version 1.04. I installed it, but when I draw walls and stuff, all I get are flat colors, no textures. when I use the the placeable objects, nothing shows up.

I read something in the faq about getting a download of the latest version to get this to work.

do I just need to do that or is there something else? I'm running windows xp...

You need to download the version 1.0.7 of DJ. You can get it directly from Kepli.

Email him at    kepli (dot) sire (at) yahoo (dot) com

tell him your purchase info and he will arrange a dropbox download for you.

This is not an upgrade, it is a full install of the latest program so you will need to uninstall the version 1.04 you bought. All you really need from your purchase is the registration code. The code will allow you to install the new version.

Once you get it installed, let us know if you have any questions on how to use it.
Happy Mapping and welcome to the Forums.

PS   Kepli has a very busy schedule, be patient he will get back to you.

Right. You need to provide Bogie and Kepli
proof of purchase, and they'll get you the
1.0.7 installer. The format of the .djx
files changed somewhere around 1.05/1.06.

Hope you were able to grab your installation
keys, from the other computer.

This issue has come up before, but I am having a brain seizure at the moment and can't quite remember the fix. I think Heruca usually has the answer for this.

Possibles:
There cannot be a copy of the Dundjinni Demo on the computer when you install. Uninstall and delete it if there is.

Turn off User Account Control before installing.

Install to the Root Directory not in "Program Files"

And the 4th one, which is most likely what you need, eludes me. Hopefully Heruca will see this and come to the rescue.

Bogie has covered the big three causes of installation failure. Is your Java
version up to date?

The only other thing I would suggest that you check is the option in DJ's Map
Items palette that allows you to paint with either a texture or a color, and
make sure it isn't set to color.

make sure it isn't set to color.

Java is up to date.
It is set to Texture not color.
and the other three things are not the issue either

Just checked, the ~properties files are in there.

it's definitely something wrong with only the .djx files too.. since all my .png files I loaded are just fine.

Could it be that you installed old artpacks, rather than the ones that were
updated for use with DJ v1.0.7?

Check if you miss a Tokens folder under Fantasy.
At one time just doing a new install helped me. But make sure to install in the root, not Program files.
A last option I can think of is checking your memory setting. Don't go over 3Gb for DJ.

I have a tokens folder under fantasy... but there is nothing in it.

I let the program install it where it aotu-chose to install... It is in a program folder...

When you say "root" should I have selected for it some where else to install? and where would that be in Windows 7?

also not sure what you mean by not going over 3gb for dj?

Should be C:/Dundjinni Enterprises not C:/Program Files/Dundjinni Enterprises.

This issue varies on different computers, on some it makes no difference , on others it keeps it from working.

By 3GB he means how much RAM memory is allocated for DJ. DJ works best when it has access to about 2GB RAM, It defaults to 256MB on installation but you can raise it, just don't go to high.

Click Options then Render

Set the XMS Memory setting. The higher it is, the faster Dundjinni runs. Just keep it below 3 GB, but what is available depends on how much RAM you have, Windows needs between 1 & 2 GB for itself. I have 2GB RAM so I set mine for 1024 MB (about 1GB).

I also drew an arrow to the box NO TEXTURES be sure that is NOT checked.

Okay so I got my PC back today, they had to do a full reinstall on it..
So trying to re-install DJ and after the install I tried to go into the render options and all it is doing is the cursor has a spinning loading icon. Have let it go for about 5 minutes already and no load. No options box

You can get it from here. It's in the "Artpacks" section. Place the DLL in your Windows directory.

You need to run the installer as an Administrator,
or someone with Administrator privileges.

Also, for Windows 7 (if applicable), there is
some control you need to disable. I'll try to
find out what it is, its like some stupid three
letter acronym, if memory serves.

In order to write to C:/Program Files/... and/or
your Registry (which is where the memory bump-up
is stored) you need admin rights.

UAC is the thing I couldn't recall.

The java exception, java.io.FileNotFoundException
you described looks to me as if you do not have
access to write the installation log (a text file)
to the directory/folder.

I don't know why that would be ... can you open
a command prompt, "cd" to the directory
"c:progra~1/dunji~1"
(likely "C:\Program Files\Dundjinni Enterprises")
and create/open/edit/save a notepad file (call it
"temp.txt" or something) ?

Wondering if you can simply create a file in that directory. Either open the "Run" dialog and type "cmd"
into the text field and hit "Return" or open it off the
"Accessories" menu.

Another "Classic" name for this is a "DOS Window".

Gotcha. Is there such a directory as C:\Program Files\
Dundjinni Enterprises ?

Can you create a new text file in it ? I cannot think
of why you could not. My registry also saves the install
directory in the format with the "~"'s in it.

Yeah, I think the second one is the one it is trying (and
failing) to "install to". You *could* try seeing if you
can "uninstall" the old one (if it is there) and starting
"fresh" (no dundjinni entries in the registry, ...)

okay so I changed the name of that file and reinstalled the DJ program in C: now the art pack went forward with installation but now seem s hung up saying "Writing Data
the installer is now recording add-on installation data"

it's been doing it for about 10 minutes now?

When it is just hanging like that, I really think
it is at the stage where it is trying to save your
installation keys to the registry, and you (whoever
you are when you log it; your account) don't have
permission to write to the registry.

I am convinced deep in the Java code the installer
is throwing some sort of SecurityException and not
catching it/handling it properly.

When you install can you right-click and install as
administrator ? Can you disable user access control
(UAC) on a Vista box ? I know you believe you have
administration "rights" on your computer but the
evidence leans the other way. (I also was hanging
at the end of the install until I figured out how
to disable UAC).

according to my security properties in Vista 32, it has full allowance to modify, read write and execute when run.
It should be installing jsut fine and I have installed several other programs over the last few days since the Reinstall of windows (including Java it self) and this is the only one giving me issues.

and again the art pack installer seems to hang up up the

"WRITING DATA...
The installer is now recording add-on installation data."

Part of the install process

Note, this is an issue with the art packs...

The Main program is installing just fine.... the stock Art shows up just fine...
The issue is happening when I try to install the Campaign art Pack and the Castle-Temple-Village art pack

Right, I had the same behavior:

http://dundjinni.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=12970&PN=1

and in my case, disabling UAC was the silver bullet that
allowed me to complete the installation. Pretty sure
the issue is the installer is trying to update the
registry with your installation keys, and is failing
(ostensibly, no write permission).

Back when I first got this program.. there were a bunch of free Art packs called

Collection 1
Collection 2
Hammerfall

and I think a few others I still have the files for... but I am unable to install them as they can't find the dundjinni program file?

Is there an update to these files some where? Is there some where with more user art anywhere?

Is there any update on whether the store will ever be up and running again? It has been many months since I last asked and thought I would inquire again.

Tell her I'm pregnant with her baby.

That'll bring her out of hiding.

I'll be doing a whirlwind tour of talkshows and news shows being that i am the very first man to become pregnant.

Don't ask how the baby will be extracted.

Contact Kepli and let him know what you have, he uses Dropbox for large files, but maybe what you have needs to be separated into a few smaller downloads.

The mailserver can't handle that amount, but I can create a folder in my Dropbox and let you share it, so you can upload it all there.

Thanks Comway

Any possibility I could get you to email me a Serial Number for Dundjinni? I paid for it with PayPal back on 6 April but still have not received it via USPS or as a download by email.

Thanks

Hi Virtual4sight,

None of us at the Forums (Administrators included) have any access to the "Store". Since the store was only recently turned on and the owner has not been very interactive, I suspect there is not really a DVD /USPS delivery option.

If you log back into the store you should be able to look up your registration number and possibly download the installation file.

If you can only get the registration number, contact Kepli at Kepli (dot) Sire (at)Yahoo (dot) com and he can set you up with an installation file. He cannot get you a registration number, only the store can. A lot of people have been looking up their old numbers to copy them for future reference so you should be able to do that.

Let me know if that doesn't work.

Hi Bogie,

I have looked under the section of the Store where it supposedly has registration serial numbers. It shows my purchase but it doesn't provide a serial number or an option to download the installation file.

Your help is appreciated.

Were you able to get charged, cuz when i tried the cd option it never
processed a payment. I got no response through the store for
support. So if you actually got charged have your cc company pull
back the funds, then purchase the dl version.

Good thinking kurtyboh

It may be best to order the download version of all purchases you do at the moment. Until Mindy is back to handle the Store, that is the way to go.

Unfortunately I can't do that since it was through PayPal. They will only refund up to 30 days. Someone from Dundjinni Store has to go out and refund my money.

I can, but do you have a license key? Without that, the installer is useless.

@Kepli: Well that will depend. A friend of mine had a version 1.04 or earlier version that he stopped using. He thinks he has the serial number some where but doesn't have the software. So I was hoping I could get the installer just in case he is able to find the serial number. Well, and that depends on whether or not an earlier serial number will work with the latest version.

Figured this would at least let me get started using the software while I wait for Mindy or whoever at the store to deal with the situation I'm in. Multiple emails have gotten no response so far.

At this point, I'm really starting to feel like this is my last resort.

Unfortunately the store is on autopilot, there is no support and there is nothing we can do about it, we are just lucky she turned it back on so people can access stored info about prior online purchases.

If you can get the serial # from your friend it will work with the new version of DJ. Let Kepli know when you get it.

Hopefully he will find his old serial number. Other than store@dundjinni.com is there another email address for Mindy that I could possibly use to contact here?

Sir Kepli

I've sent you an email, requesting your aid in updating beyond v1.04.

EDIT: Kepli told me per emeail that I can download v.1.0.7 directly from the store, and then dissappeared.
That is not so, as far as I can see.
The only version I get from re-downloading my old order is version 1.0.0.0.0.0. (and then some)
This version will not even open. (I've got win7)
I can then proceed to upgrade, once again, and once again end up with version 1.04, unable to get any further.
Help? Anyone?

I forwarded this to Kepli. You should have been able to get the new version from the store, but I don't know exactly how that works.

How can I get the most current version?
Updating using the patch links is not installing

I can get it to run patched but only my added Art
Packs will load. None of the default textures load
into the program. I've uninstalled/re-installed
several times with the same results...

If you purchased DJ from Drivethru, the "store" here would have no record of it. It is OK as long as you saved your installation product key code. You will need it to reinstall version 1.0.7.

There is a 1.0.7 upgrade that can be downloaded from the DJ store but it is buggy. You are better off with a full install. we can get that for you.

What Operating system are you installing on? v 1.0.7 was written for Windows Vista, but it works well on Win 7. Only a few people have succeeded in a Win 8 install. One of them posted the method here, but it was way over my head.

You can use any of the art that is in png format as is but if an art pack is in djx format you need the newer version. The free user artpacks can be downloaded by anyone, the proprietary artpacks will need to be downloaded from the store. To do that you will need to log into the store with your original password, then anything you bought from the store in the past should be available for free. If you bought the artpacks from Drivethru, you might be able to get them from Kepli.

To get the DJ 1.0.7 program you need to send an email to Kepli with an explanation and he will set up a dropbox download for you. Same for artpacks that you can't get from the store. ( he has some but not all of them.)
Kepli dot Sire At Yahoo dot com

If you have any questions about installing you can ask him or email me at Bogiemaps at gmail dot com.

What do you mean by Updatefile? Do you mean the Version 1.0.7 program or something else?

Have you downloaded the new versions of the Artpacks?

The old versions won't install with the newer 1.0.7.

If you have the new artpacks, did you turn off the Windows User Accounts Control. they won't install if that is on.

There are several posts by people who have managed to load DJ onto Win 8 and 10. 8 seems to be the hardest, but 10 has some challenges also. Unfortunately, I have never even seen win 10 so I know nothing about it. Maybe some of those other posts will help you.
