Sounds like fun, filing houses is very fun. Any specific theme or time period
or can we go wild there?

Ok, I hope I can explain the idea with the help of this little smithy I built.
First of all we have the base shape. The idea is to provide you with 1 or 2 (maybe 3 in case there's lot of interest) base shapes to choose from. Upon these you can work as free as you want, add inner walls and create any type of building interior. A bakery, a grocery store, a peasant home.. or a smithy like in this case.
I would provide the roofs for those baseshapes as well. Of course you can feel free to create your own if you so desire but if youre bored to do them, that's ok. XD
So far it's all really simple. Now the fun part starts by using predefined staircase locations that will allow people to add different floors to the buildings of different users.
Let's say supercaptain creates a living area that you wanna use as 1st floor on a shop totte came up with, but totte's design only icluded an attic. Because of the identical building base shapes and staircase locations you could just remove the attic and add the living area.
Based on the number of map contestants we could end up with a nice selection of interiors to choose from to put on any level of a house.
I could also export and provide the contestants with staircase presets for ground, middle and upper levels so you can skip tedious parts and dive right into the fun of designing a fresh, detailed interior.
Now in my smithy example you can see how the attic and the 1st floor are nice areas but even without them the house would still stand as a whole since the ground level can as well connect to the 2nd floor. The attic in this case can be anywhere (as long as its walls remain completely inside the base shape bounds (for static and logical reasons)) since it is connected by a trapdoor to the floor below.
Wall of text ftw. Any questions? :D

Sounds great - looking fwd to the basic designs.
I think having stairs already in place (smokepipes/chimneys) maybe (on the
outside), will make it easier to create the "neverending house of many
opportunities" ;-)

I'm not seeing the image that TheSim posted. Anyone else having that
problem?

Hi TheSim,
So...
TheSim to provide roof shapes;
TheSim to provide 1, 2 or 3 base shapes to choose from;
TheSim to predefine staircase locations that will allow people to add different floors to the buildings of different users;
TheSim to export and provide the contestants with staircase presets for ground, middle and upper levels;
Then...
we can work as free as we want, adding inner walls and create any type of building interior.
Look forward to this, but it sounds like more work for TheSim than the contestant!
Things to ponder, perhaps...
Lighting theme: Will they be in daylight, nightime or overcast?
Stairs up/down: might double versions be allowed - stairs going up[middle floors] / no stairs going up[the top floor].
May someone stick on an adobe roof (for deserts / sci-fi)?
Number: any limit to the numbers of entries?
The attic seems a strange shape for the sample roof.
If they are for stamping on a map as a .png, the size may kill older PC's (ok, I just go a new PC ha ha, but very large .png were slow on my old PC).
