Hey community! Serendipitous here hoping for a little bit of the guidance I know this community has in ample supply. I'm very interested in stepping onto the commercial stage and hope to join the ranks of some of the greats I've seen here on DJ.

I've begun to develop my own portfolio, but nothing to post just yet. I've got 3d modeling software, DAZ and a membership to a really good texture site that most of you know well. I've got the tools and a bit of experience, what I need is some direction.

Where do I begin? Who should I know? Do I start with my own website or try to get in with someone already established?

I know this was a lot to digest, but if I know this community, I know there's a great desire to help one improve. I don't want to be a career waiter (lol, I enjoy waiting tables, but I LOVE art) and I feel like this might by my ticket. Thanks in advance for any advice or support.

Your friend,
seren.

Seren,

Try with a web site such as Creative Gremlins.

Link in my signature,

not that I'm biased or anything

I also use Creative Gremlins for most of my commercial work.

What a wonderful resource! I've browsed the website
before, but not at great length. Thanks Aegean and Kepli
for the support and response.

I've been cooking up some original models with Blender so
keep your eyes peeled for some real contributions from me
in the future! (of course, they'll be in the proper forum
. )
