I'm trying to follow the original poster's instructions to make Dundjini
run under Lion (OS 10.7.2), but I'm encountering an error that I can't
get past...
Originally, I attempted to follow the OP's instructions.
I downloaded the Java Stub (it never appeared as a .zip / and I can't find
the actual file in source forge, but I proceeded anyway). The
downloaded Java Stub looks different than the one in my System
Library. The permissions are wrong, and a file command (executed in a
terminal) shows the following characteristics:
"JavaApplicationStub: JavaApplicationStub: Mach-O universal binary
with 3 architectures JavaApplicationStub (for architecture x86_64):
Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64 JavaApplicationStub (for architecture
i386): Mach-O executable i386 JavaApplicationStub (for architecture
ppc7400):Mach-O executable ppc"
I put a copy of this new java stub in my copied version of Dundjini.
When I try to launch the copy with the downloaded JavaApplicationStub,
the Dundjini icon bounces in my dock, but never launches.
Console shows the following errors:
"12/9/11 7:00:04.025 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.505: ([0x0-
0x3edaed7].Dundjinni copy[3932])
posix_spawn("/Applications/Dundjinni/Dundjinni
copy.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub", ...): Permission denied
12/9/11 7:00:04.025 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.505: ([0x0-
0x3edaed7].Dundjinni copy[3932]) Exited with code: 1"
When I correct the permissions. From "-rw-r--r--@" to "-rwxr-xr-x@",
I get the following error (while Dundjini is "Creating dialog
components")
"Cannot launch Java application: Uncaught exception in main method:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/roydesign/mac/MRJAdapter"
Since the application wouldn't launch with this downloaded java stub, I
decided to try and use the java stub in my System Library. That should
work, as it's the one used when I launch other (functional) java
applications…
As an admin user (to preserve all file attributes, permissions, etc), I
made a copy of Dundjini (1.0.7), drilled down into the:
"/Applications/Dundjinni/Dundjinni copy.app/Contents/MacOS"
directory, created a symbolic link (to preserve all file permissions and
attributes) of the JavaApplication stub at: "
/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Resources/MacOS/ ".
Note: The file command (executed in a terminal) shows the original
JavaApplicationStub (the one that comes with Dundjine 1.0.7) to have
the following characteristics: "JavaApplicationStub: Mach-O executable
ppc". It's PPC and won't work under Lion.
The Java stub in my System Library shows the following characteristics:
"JavaApplicationStub: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
JavaApplicationStub (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit
executable x86_64 JavaApplicationStub (for architecture i386): Mach-O
executable i386"
When I try to launch the new copy (with the intel Java stub), I get the
following error message while Dundjini is "Creating dialog
components":
"Cannot launch Java application: Uncaught exception in main method:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/roydesign/mac/MRJAdapter"
The same error.
I've seen the 'net/roydesign/mac/MRJAdapter' error in the forums:
TID=11755&get=last>, but the discussion was regarding Dundjini
under Snow Leopard, but I can't figure out how to get past this error.
Dundjini with the new/proper JavaApplicationStub will not launch under
Lion.
I read some threads about reinstalling the application (Dundjini 1.0.7),
but didn't get the full details on why or when you should do that?
Any ideas? I can't get Dundjini to run on my Mac (using Lion 10.7.2).

Hmm, I don't have a Lion machine available at the moment so I cannot test
this (still using 10.6 on my machines and my test box is doing something
else right now, but I'll see if I can do something this weekend.

I did all the above to finally get Dundjinni to work on my OS Lion Mac. Now
I install the art pack and have blank images for stamps. Any ideas?
