After a lot of experimentation and research I believe I
have found a way to sucessfully install Dundjinni 1.07 on
windows 7 64 bit system with only the updates.
At the very least I have definately found a way to
install DJ so that it is usable with this OS.
I am still typing up the instructions to post here in a
legible and understandable way,but I work a lot so I will
actually post them here this Thursday,September 15
2011.It's my birthday that day but the present is for
you, the Dundjinni community. I know there are a lot of
you that have lost your registration information due to
updating hardware or system crashes and this was done to
help out you specifically until the store re-opens so
that those of us who are "doing without" (so to speak...)
can re-purchase at that time.
I have asked Kepli's permission to post this as I do not
want this to be perceived as a legitimate tool for
illegitmate use...I just like the program and want to do
something for the community.
Thanks Kepli!

The Process ...
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
PREFACE
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
A lot of this information has come from others both
outside and from within
these forums...I cannot take credit for all the
information presented here but
I do take credit for assembling it and testing it out on
my systems here at home.
I hope it is useful to us all. Please feel free to
correct me on anything presented
here, but do so kindly please...I lost a lot of sleep to
put this together.
This method is what worked for me and I cannot guarantee
that it will
work for you...nor will I accept responsibility for or if
using this method or any
of the files I reccomend mangles your system or it's
function. It is presented on
a "use at your own risk" basis. But I do sincerely hope
this helps...
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
Welcome to the Windows 7 64 bit installation of
Dundjinni, the most elite RPG
Map Maker available. This document will take you step by
step through the
installation process, insuring that your installation of
Dundjinni is everything you
would hope it to be.
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
PREPARATION
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
The most important step in this process: Go to Control
Panel/User Accounts/User
Accounts. Click the option that says "Turn User Account
Control on or off."
Uncheck the box if it isn't already. Exit and restart
your computer. (After you have
completely installed Dundjinni you can turn it back on if
you like.).
The next step in the process is to remove any Java
software currently installed on
your PC. This is due to a bug in the version 1.00 setup.
Don't worry, you can
update your Java back to the current version later. To
uninstall Java you must;
Click START > CONTROL PANEL > ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS
Then locate anything starting with "Java(TM)", and select
to remove it.
The Java version that the Setup program looks for is
1.4.2.02, which is available
here on this page...you have to look for
it(http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/
downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase14-
419411.html#7742-j2re-1.4.2_02-oth-JPR) . Unfortunately
the setup program will not install it for us, due to the
bug, so we must install it
manually. To do this once you have downloaded the right
Java installation
double-click on the "j2re-1_4_2_02-windows-i586-p" file.
Proceed through the Java
setup by just clicking next through the entire process.
Next you will want to copy the "j2re-1_4_2_02-windows-
i586-p.exe" file to ;
C:\Windows or any folder in your %PATH% to help avoid any
java path issues.
Once Java is installed, go to "Program
Files(x86)/Java/j2re1.4.2_02/bin" and find
javaw.exe. Right-click it, go to Properties. Click the
Compatibility tab. Checkmark
on: Run as Administrator. Apply. All .jar patches
should now run without issue.
Next you want to make sure that you do not suffer the
.dll error that can some-
happen. Install the .dll file you downloaded from the
support page in this folder;
C:\Windows\System32 and also to C:/Windows.
You must then restart your computer.
---------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION
---------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
Now that we've prepared your computer to skip over the
Java bug we can install
Dundjinni. Double click your Dundjinni setup file and
enter your NAME and KEY
as you would normally.
---------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
UPDATING
---------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
Assuming the installation went correctly you will now be
able to update Dundjinni
using the provided updates. Double-click on them in this
order, making sure the first
one finishes before moving on to the next;
Update 1.00 to 1.01
Update 1.01 to 1.02
Update 1.02 to 1.04
After the 1.02 to 1.04 ( while installing the 1.04 to
1.05 update - notice it is a .jre )
you may notice that you get a Java error. In order to get
past this run the
jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586-p installation file...then go
on to the following updates;
Update 1.04 to 1.05
Update 1.05 to 1.06
Update 1.06 to 1.07
Most of the updates go very quickly...but be patient with
the Update 1.02 to 1.04,
It can take a while. After the last update Reboot.
Now that all the updates are installed go to "Program
Files(x86)/Fluid/Dundjinni"
and find dundjinni.exe. Right-click it, go to Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab. Checkmark on the following:
Run as Administrator.
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
Finally, update all your Java...then Reboot.
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
MEMORY USAGE SETTINGS
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
Since Windows 7 64 bit can use obscene amounts of memory
you are most likely
going to want to use it. Here is the registry location
you need to do so as noted
elsewhere in the forums;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
Wow6432Node
Dundjinni Enterprises
Dundjinni
Memory
Doubleclick the "Memory " key and change the numeric
value to something
appropriate for your system. I reccomend starting with
"1024" but do be careful.
If you go too high you will crash Dundjinni and have to
revert back to something
less dramatic.
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
CONCLUSION
---------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
I sincerely hope this helps out until the store is back
up. It would be great if
some of the more knowledgeable of us would try this out
to see what works for
them and post thier results, methods, corrections etc...
Thanks for your time!

Thanks for all your help figuring this out, it looks like it was a lot of work coming up with this solution.
Hopefully it will help some people.
