After reinstalling Dundjinni on my new computer, I found myself ogling over various tiles created years ago that could look even more splendid now, given our current advances in graphics technologies. As such, I wanted to take the time to try and give these "Classic" images a clever little revamp of sorts.
The first of which shall be floor tiles.
Back in 2005 Kegron gave us THESE lovely Pen & Paper designs that he drew by hand.
I myself, have taken the time to turn them into templates to create the following variant revamps.

As for Kegron's other broken tile, I came up with the following revamp.
Feel free to add your variants Bogie and/or others. Will include the plain black and white templates ASAP for those of you interested in helping us revamp some of these classic tiles/objects!

As promised, here are the black and white templates used to create the classic tile revamps. After applying a simply threshold adjustment to the originals in photoshop, I merely colored in the portions still marred by pixels and smoothed them out. The rest is simply a matter of layering patterns, colors, and other effects. Enjoy!

Just an extremely quick variant of the broken tile revamp I did for a friend's game this afternoon.

I really liked Kepli's idea of making huge 5x5 sections of tiled floor inserts from THIS THREAD so decided to give one a go.
Bear in mind that this is both a quick attempt and merely a jpeg representation of the final product, since both images are over 2mb in size!

Thanks for inspiring me Kepli!

I like the way it is super-easy to determine what constitutes a "five foot square". Many old maps I've made, printed out, and used in my game are such that I've had to go over them with a marker or highlighter to show the grid (some 5' floor tiles are like a subdivided 3x3 or 2x2 grid).

Thanks Bogie. In all honesty, I think I am having much more fun learning photoshop/genetica/gimp than anything else.
I have recently been messing around with various free patterns that I've found on the internet and trying to come up with a floorplan of my own design.
I found one image that I liked a lot and wanted to use it as the cornerstones of a 6x6 dragon tile image, but for the life of me am having trouble altering the color of the base image.
Every time I mess with it it winds up being too dark or flat in appearance - i.e. no variants of brightness/contrast etc. just a blue/green/red/whatever color I try to make it version lol.
Feel free to mess around with the altered image I was working with to give it some life and color. I already took the 2d flat black and white image and added some bas-relief and engraving effects.
And bigger if need be
I'm still learning so have much distance to cover, but thought I'd stop to share if anyone liked the image, etc.

Awesome ... Second inspiration I had today to start drawing again
A tip: rotate each template image to create 4 times the amount of tiles ...
