The program is awesome, but what is the deal with the store. Its been
down for years.

This is ridiculous and lame. Come on dundjinni and step up.

Either
A. Give me my money back because you offer no support.
B. Give me everything you have in the way of art for free
C. Start doing your job and update this program
D. Close shop

I luckily found my key somewhere so that I could reinstall, but I can't tell
you how many posts are out there from people that are screwed because
you people are slackin.

This is starting to sound like a submission to the better business bureau for
fraud or something, this is crazy.

Dear Thrillba,

Mindy (the owner of Dundjinni) is going through / resolving some personal things at the moment.

What they are and how long it has already been is known to a select few (not me by the way) and how long it will be is unknown.

Although we all feel your anguish for the lack of current feed back in the way of the dis-functioning store or lack of feed back.

But (as you will know) the threads are maintained by such epic legends as Kepli and Dundjinni will again rise again sometime in the future.

Please could you defer from the fraud / screwed / slackin comments and just cut Mindy some "slack" if you could find it in your heart to do so. I doubt she is snubbing Dundjinni out of spite or for fun.

As for support - we - the community that currently IS Dundjinni is here for you (and Mindy).

What help do you require?

ae

Thanks Aegean.

The real question is Why do the Forum Administrators, Moderators, and other helpful people work so hard to keep these Forums running despite the obvious problems due to the store being closed.

First, for those that don't know, there is no one here, from Kepli on down, who gets paid anything. We are just Forum members like anyone else. The labels moderator and Administrator simply are website designations that determine how much editing we can do to the site (limited).

We do it because we love the software, but more important we do it because we love this community and we are trying to keep it going and help as many people as we can with the limited resources we have at our disposal.

As for Dundjinni Enterprises, that is owned and operated by a single individual, Mindy. Originally, there was a small software company, but due to the economy she is the only one left. The store got closed last summer (a long time, but not "years ago" yet) when she tried to fix some serious website problems by migrating to a new server. The website has run very well since she did that, but the store never came back on line for some unknown reason. In December she informed us she would be dealing with a serious family problem for 4 to 6 weeks and would fix the store when they were resolved.
We have not heard from her since. We have been unable to contact her. All we know is the site is still on, thankfully. We don't know what, if anything, has happened to her. She may not have the financial resources to fix the store, she may be one of the poor souls caught in the horrible tornadoes this spring, she may be in a monastery in Tibet. We just don't know.

In the meantime Thrillba, we will try to help you and everyone else as much as we can for as long as we can but your A B C or D choices are not viable options.

I understand that people have problems. I was one of the people caught in
the tornado's this spring. I was without power for 11 days.

It has been 8 months since the 4 to 6 week notice, thats a little long. The
store has been down since last summer, but there has been no support for
much longer than that.

I sent an email shortly after I bought the product in september of 09, and
never received a reply, not even a sorry I can't help right now.

I too love the product, that is one reason I am so upset.

There are tons of features that could make this product better, but it has
been shelved. The last update for this product was in 2008. I don't want to
hurt anyone's feelings, but if mindy doesn't hurry up, someone else will take
the idea and make it better and she will lose all of her customers. Take
battlegrounds and d20pro, battlegrounds came out before d20, but it looks
like someone took the idea and made it better.

I know she is the sole owner - but you have to equate real life to a job, if
she had let something go this long without fixing the problem she would be
fired.

If it takes something like this to get her attention then I consider my work
done, however like many other great programs people eventually have to
face the facts, that it could be dead.

Just a thought - if the forums should ever crap out for what ever reason, should we have a meeting point online so we can set up the forums anew?

Just an idea for all worst possible outcomes?

Oh - and Dunjinni isn't dead until we say it is.

Greytale's Nook would be a good starting point for finding out what's happening if needed.

Yeah that works for me . . . .

I also need to start doing some art too . . .

Instead of playing "Rage"

Which has some of the best texturing, ever, in any game produced so far.

That, and stop playing eve-online. . . . .

And the beer . . . .

. . . .

This is is a test of the emergency "No Dunjinni forums system" if this were an actual emergency we would proceed immediately to the Nook. This is only a test.

Thank God for that. Now running in circles with this new found pressure. Need to stock up on the beer.

Looks like you guys got most of the stuff covered already

This is a great community with loads of art and maps and that is what we are keeping alive right now.
Sofar I have given a download of Dundjinni v1.0.7 to 115 different persons (and a lot of art-packs as well), so Dundjinni is still being used quite a lot.
As for the Store being reopened, updates being build and new art-packs being created ... who knows.

We will make sure there will continue to be a forum and a place where people can post and download art and maps.

On this topic I certainly know the stresses of real life. I spent 2010 caring
for my oldest daughter who had developed cancer on her spine. She
passed away in November 2010 and I have spent most of 2011 in a daze.
Whatever Mindy is going through I feel for her.
That said, I recently upgraded my Mac to Tiger and Dundjinni no longer
functions. It's been a long time since there was a Mac update anyway so I
was only using it sporadically to begin with. However, I recently had to do
a map for an upcoming adventure in Protodimension Magazine, so I
cobbled it together in Photoshop. A base grass texture, some airbrushed
dirt, basic walls with a floorboard fill and I was ready to plop down trees
and objects from the forums. So while it is not nearly as convenient as
having it all in one program, it can be done and look pretty good. I'd love
to see things come back together, but until then I can make do.
