I haven't started on any yet, but I am gathering my thoughts as to how to
begin. I'm thinking the most useful base texture would be something of a
standard metal riveted square, perhaps a bit aged, like you might see on a
medium use starship. We could then work up variants for a Very old, Very
new, and Alien starship. Probably smart to do the floor and walls o different
layers so they can be mixed and matched. Trying to think what the best sort
of wall would be. I'll work up some ideas later today and post. All comments
welcome, of course.

Hey GV,
I think thats a fantastic idea.
How difficult is it to cultivate a dark "reflective" floor tile, like you might see on the Death Star or similar Imperial base? Old Ship also intrigues me.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Here are my beginning attempts. Some of my filters didn't make the transition to Lion so I'm having to fake it.
Not sure but I think there should be more color, at least for the older ship.

I also don't like how much detail I lost so tips on how the dungeon tiles were saved might help.

I think for spaceships and whatnot, having randomized floor
tiles isn't important. Not sure what that thought is worth,
really, but those things are usually built with a more
standardized eye and mass-production, so "tiling" isn't
something I think you'd need to worry about. You could
probably generate a few tiles but not put much time into
the randomization aspect of it.

Which is what I was thinking for the "New" ship design. But as a ship ages
and floor panels need to be replaced, they will not necesarily be replaced
with a matching material. Since this sort of design is likely to be more
involved that is where I started.

Ah ha. Gotcha. That makes a lot more sense than what I was
thinking. NVM my earlier thought.

There's excellent metal tiles on FilterForge.

Those are nice. I could easily find something on the web either there or
in other places, but I was hoping to whip up something from scratch
that would have no copyright issues. I could also look around for a no -
copyrighted piece to build from, but I wanted to work out the technical
details first. Thanks for the link, though.

I'm looking at the tiles and I think the gaps may be too large/deep. I'll
play around with settings tomorrow and see if I can pick up some more
detail.
