What happened to some "normal" music like (almost) everything from the 70's-80's and such?
You know ... U2, Simple Minds, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, ELO, Beatles, The Stones, Roxy Music, Michael Jackson, Spandeau Ballet, and lots, lots more

I grew up in the 80's ... if I were to list all my faves from the 80's (and early 90's) the list would be a mile long!!!
Over the past few years I've been slowly replacing my collection (from cassette tapes to digital). And I'm thrilled to see that a lot of the Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Calypso and Bahamian music that I also grew up listening to is starting to make an appearance on the web! Although some of the really lesser known and obscure (to the US and the rest of the world) stuff is still impossible to find...
Here's some of the 80's artists that I love, and that most of you guys would probably know, or at least have heard of. All stuff you would have seen on MTV back then:
Aerosmith
Air Supply
Bell Biv DeVoe
Billy Idol
Billy Joel
Bob Marley
Bon Jovi
Chicago
Crystal Waters
Def Leppard
Depeche Mode
Don Henley
Duran Duran
George Michael
Heart
Jefferson Starship
Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam
Madonna
MC Hammer
Meat Loaf
Men at Work
Michael Jackson
Nazareth
Poison
Queen
Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock
Roxette
Savage Garden
Skid Row
Snap!
Sting
Tears for Fears
The Scorpions
Tone-Loc
Toto
U2
UB40
Wilson Phillips
just to name a few...

Oi,
I realize that these tunes have been out for a few years now but I have only just discovered them recently.
Anyone who is a Ghost in the Shell fan will recognize them from "Stand Alone Complexe 2nd Gig".
I had always thought anime music has been improving since the days of "Q" (a.k.a.: "Zoom, my boyfriend is a pilot") and even though I thought Appleseed was pretty much top shelf in this department (based on production value alone) GitS has altered this perspective.
Other than Jin-Roh, this is one of the best OST's an anime has ever had.
I intend to use them for the new Bubblegum Crisis game I intend to run.
See what you think?
Rise

What's it For
Stay Free....Stay True!

Cheerio,
I am just about to show my age in a drastic and ridiculously ludicrous manner.
(No worries Dragonlady....nothing obscene!)
This next few songs come from some very fond childhood memories....all two of them.
What am I refering to you might ask yourself?
Well, if you can't remember the 70's then you may as well skip this post and go back to looking for maps and tokens.
I refer to the british comic genius of "The Goodies".
Like a live action cartoon, they were unstoppable and and never failed to make me laugh.
Anyone still reading who still has no idea what I am talking about should think along the lines of Monty Python's Flying Circus only with music. I have no doubts that the series writers did some HEAVY drugs to come up with some of their material....if not ALL of it that is!
I just finished watching all of Tim Taylor's "Heenz Beenz" Boy commercials (not to mention the Mold detergent advert and a host of others) and I still laugh at them almost as much as I did when I was young.
(Perhaps not quite as much....I don't wet myself when I watch them anymore!)
Well, they ALSO had a few songs....(making fun of rock and roll was one of their past times)....and I thought I would share a few.
AIN' IT FUNKY NOW!!!
The first one is Cricklewood
The next one is titled Make a daft noise at Christmas
The last one seems appropriate for the times and is called Panic
Stay Free....Stay True!

Gutten tag mein herr,
I was looking for music appropriate for my new BGC game I plan to run when I came across this little gem.
KMFDM has always been a favorite of mine but I really love the music they do that features Lucia's vocals.
Alternative....Industrial whatever you choose to call it, this song is absolutely perfect for my campaign.
It is from the album Attak and it is called "Sleep".
Sleep
Stay Free....Stay True....Rock On!

Bonjour,
I was listening to my music rotation and this song came up again and I thought I would drop by to add it. I can't find a copy of just the music so I included the clip where it is heard (pretty much) from beginning to end in its entirity. It's also coinsedently the exact type of scene I use it in for spicing up my games.
I don't know the artist/composer but I do know that the movie it is taken from is titled "The Brotherhood of the Wolf" or "Le Pacte de Loups". It's a good movie but if you ever decide to watch it, don't watch the dubbed version....watch it in the original french tongue as it was intended to be in and brush up on your speed reading.
Enjoy!
Mani and the Gypsies
Stay Free....Stay True....support The Pirate Bay!

Hello,
Once more, random music playlists bring back memories both bad and good in the form of a tiny slice of audio heaven.
Sure it was the 80's, and music was in a "dismal" place but there were a few bands that stood apart from the rest once the full force of the Euro music scene hit North America.
One of them was Level 42.
The song included is called "Two Solitudes" and I can't help but recall many a good lady in (and out of) my life when this melody reaches my ears.
I hope you enjoy it too.
Level 42 - Two Solitudes
Stay Free....Stay True....and don't fret about all these TSA pukes because in another 10 years, once they all have cancer from those terra hertz scanners, you can laugh at them and blow cigarette smoke in their faces!)

S'up?
Time to add another song that has caught my attention as my music rotation keeps on going. This time from a "Hellbilly" band that goes by the name of "The Cramps".
Sure, the song I am posting is really just a vampire tune but it IS one of their best remembered songs.
(Don't quote me but I think it was used in the ending credits of "From Dusk Till Dawn 2")
The Cramps - Sunglasses after Dark
Stay Free....Stay True!
