I've been exporting images I've made in ReadDraw as Transparent PNG images. I've been choosing white as the transparent background, but it seems that everytime I post images here the backgrounds look black.
I haven't worried much about it until now - I have an image to post that is predominately black. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I'm not sure if you're actually doing anything wrong. I think that most (if not all) of the images I've seen posted to these forums that have been created in RealDraw have had black backgrounds where the transparency should be.
Webmaster J.T. may be able to make a modification to the site code to properly display PNGs with transparency. There are two ways of doing this: server side an client side. The server side solutions I've seen utilize PHP, and this site is an ASP site, not PHP, so that will not work. The browser side solution utilizes JavaScript to display the PNG differently in MSIE, and should work well without breaking the image in other browsers.

mmm, there is some kind of bug in RD. The export BG color seems not to change even if you choose another one.

maraich, the URL I gave was for Webmaster J.D., in case he wants to "fix" transparency on the forums by implementing changes to the website. My apologies for any confusion I may have caused.

Thank goodness! I read the link and barely understood I thing I read. I'm very relieved to find out that it wasn't meant for me.
I guess I'll just have to upload the images with the black transparency and post a non-transparent image with a white background so people can see what the critter looks like.

Follow-up: I've switched from MS Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox (a most excellent web browser) and see every posted PNG image on these forums with transparent backgrounds.
For those interested, Firefox is available at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/.

There's another thing speaking for the Firefox (from a notorious user art addicted )
If you hit 'Ctrl'+'J' you get the Page setup information.
Tere's a register called 'Media' (at least I guess that's what it's called, I'm using the german version, lazy slob that I am)
There you can scroll through all the images on a page (preview included) and download it with a simple click on a button.
Cool stuff!
