Can I print out so each square is one inch, and use the print out as a battle mat?
thanks!

Yes. Don't have it in front of me at the moment, so I can't tell you exactly how.
But if you were interested in capabilities, that is the strength of DJ. The GM map can turn into about 16 battle-maps.

I believe that details for this are in the manual.
However, here's how I do it:
1. Make a map
2. Click the Rectangle Select tool, and make sure that you're selecting everything (Walls, Objects, Cover, etc.)
3. Turn on snap-to-grid.
4. Click Constraint, Battle Map
5. Click where you'd like the top left corner of your battle map to be.
Now that you've selected the region you'd like to turn into a battle map (8x10 at 1"=5' by default), click Tools, Generate Battle Map.
A seperate map will open in Dundjinni. Modify this if you would like to, then print it.

Actually in the print mode you can select a map that you have created to print as a battlemat version, with 1" squares. Just select that option in the Print Dialogue.

But how do you make a battlemap and save it into a format that can be taken to a print shop and printed? I tried the first methoud and all it does is make only the first 8x10 section?
Thanks
Komabai

The short answer: Use File, Export to save your work in a format that the print shop can use.
The long answer: Check this thread, discussing printing at Kinko's: http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=359&KW=k inko

I got it to work via the short answer, but only for a campaign style map, not a battlemap (exporting the map to a JPEG). Is there a way to save a battleamp is its individual 8X10 pages? Or do you have to manually select each section, follow the directions above, make the 8X10 map, save it and rinse repeat untill you have the full area?
Thanks
Komabai

If you export the entire map to a JPET, and then load the file into your other software (photoshop, whatever) you can then print it out at whatever dpi you want. Most software/printer combinations break the image into muliple pages upon printing. You could also do this by printing straight from Dundjinni, selecting '1 inch grid' from the print dialog. It will print over 16 pages, giving 16 'battle maps' which you could tape together, or reveal as needed.
