Here is an attempt at creating a Peryton with some images I grabbed from these forums a while back. Sorry, I can't find them easily enough to give the proper credit.

I used Adobe Photoshop elements, Tried to match the colors and texturized the deer head to match the owl.

I like!
When cutting & pasting look out for sharp edges on shadows (i.e. the wings). Its often better to remove these & reapply them in PS.

I'm going to have to figure out how to do shadows first.

I presume its the same as Gimp, so your looking for dropshadow.....There's plenty of PS users around here so they may correct me....

Don't worry its all a learning experiece.....should see my first efforts, your way above them, LoL....

I figured out the drop shadow part. But combining the two images and making them appear seamless is the trick.

I have never heard of a peryton until this thread.
EDIT - And I thought I knew just about all the creatures in
the D&D monster manuals.
