Yes. FM can do dungeon rooms, etc using all the images found on this
forum. I've never used DJ, so I can't really compare them. I think DJ
tiles floor covers better though.

Dundjinni is made to produce high resolution full scale battlemaps at 5ft = 1 inch and it does that at 200 pixels = 1 inch at 200 DPI resolution.
On a DJ map that bed icon you have would measure just over 1 foot long.
You can change the scale on the rulers on the DJ workspace, but DJ only works with the artwork at the 200 px = 1 inch at 200 dpi scale. Scaling anything more than 50% larger usually gets grainy.

Those symbols are meant for smaller maps, not battle maps.

That's Bogie's point, I think. DJ was initially made specifically for battlemaps. You can do larger scale maps, but it's not made
for it.
I have a lot of actual blue-colored TSR-style icons somewhere on my computer or external hard drive (more likely, now that I think
about it).
I'm not entirely sure where I found them, but maybe tomorrow I can zip them up and post them. I don't remember what scale they're
in, as I've
mostly been hand-drawing blue maps myself in GIMP.
EDIT - I found a link on Dragonsfoot that I think may have been where I found the objects originally. The icons were created for a
free map creator called Dungeon Crafter, which uses a smaller dpi than Dundjinni, so you may have the same scaling issues, but it
might be worth checking out anyway. You'll have to scroll down to find the objects from this link
http://www.dragonsfoot.org/maps/index.shtml.

Ok, this is key. I assumed that Dundjinni did true scaling but it appears that it's just cosmetic, i.e. doesn't actually change how the program handles image size. Oh well.
Mercutio, I have those Dungeon Crafter tilesets. But at this point I'm done working with discontinued unsupported software like Dundjinni/DC/etc, just too much of a headache. It's a shame no one has stepped up to fill the gap, there's definitely a market for an updated map program!

That's where FractalMapper or Campaign Cartographer come
in.
In all seriousness, the DungeonCrafter tilesets are usable
outside of its native program. You could use them in GIMP
or probably even Inkscape. I'm fairly sure the tilesets are
just png files, aren't they?

Hi,
I seem to remember that "Dungeon Crafter 3" was an abandoned project opened to the public. I used to
take Aegeans tiles from Dj and reduce them from 200 to 72dpi and really liked the program! It showed
me I liked mapping and led me to Dj.
Anyways...
If you take the symbols, and make them up to 200x200 (in these cases had to "sharpen" them to stop them
blurring). You'd also need a Floor folder with one 200x200 square of black, one blue, and of each other
colour required. The floor can be then be pencilled in (snap to grid vertice or centre, or freehand, choice
of pencil widths.)
Then Dundjinni could emulate the older lower resolution mapping styles. Doubt if it'd be much of an
advantage(?) Dj is great because of the 8,000+ or so hi-res art pieces one has to play with, but should
work as a basic drawing board program as well.

Are the old symbols copyrighted? If not a "Minimalist" Dj mini art pack could be made toute suite.
(Update)Someone has done this before....
