I have Cecil's permission to host the FM8 version that he authorized us to make but not for the original DJ version.
That said, hosting need not be a problem. When we solicited and were granted permission to host the things that we have online for free download, a key point was that the host-site be non-commercial, which isn't the case with the MapForge site. We are a legally recognized non-profit in Germany. We do absolutely no business of any kind. We have no ads on our website. We sell nothing. We do no kickstarters. We do not accept donations.
But if a host is all that's needed, we're willing to host both the CSUAC and Daniel Pryor's Dundjinni Archives, and we would have them online within about 24 hours of getting approval. Daniel has posted on the forums as recently as this month, so I hope he might see this and can add some extra thoughts.
Our web services have operated without a break for 25 years, so I think one would have to recognize us as being reliable. Of course, we have nothing at all against someone else being the host either. We'd just like to know that all of that good artwork is available online again.
Servus,

Okay so I'm chiming in. First you'll notice that I moved this topic to its own thread in order avoid cluttering up the art request thread, no offense. I also deleted some
of the comments for the same reason so my apologies guys.
Now, as far as the CSUAC goes, If someone wants to host the files and no one is going to get upset about copyright, etc then by all means go for it. My concern is that so
far no one can say for 100% certain that all the files in the collection are available for public use with commercial usage. Every file here is under that definition so
as long as we can have some consistency so that there is no legal disputes or claims, then that's great, release and host the files.
Hopefully this clears a few things up. If we can get a well-sorted and organized version of it all then I don't see why hosting it on a Google drive or whatever you want
is fine. Again, my concern is that people will add to the archives and put in pirated art from the trove site or something and then people will be upset at this site even
though we had nothing to do with it. It's all about verification, consistency, and a single-minded vision with ONE site backing/promoting it. If everyone can come to
terms on this, we should be able to get this done. We will need need to start with 100% verification that all files are of free public use with possible commercial use,
etc.
