Forgive me because I am still somewhat computer illiterate and I know this has been probably covered a dozen or so times but I could use a Lehman's terms step by step on taking a map from my Dundjinni program and taking it to Kinko's so they can print out the sixteen pages for a battle map on some nice photo copy paper because they said it would only cost me about .89 cents per page. For example:
1. Do I export to J-PEG or BITMAP(if so how many pixels)
2. What is the best option to copy it to (floppy,cd,orUSB device)
3. What do I need to tell the people at Kinko's so they can print out my pages?
Thank you in advance for any help here .

A long answer (given in a short way) can be found in this thread.
The short answer (given more verbosely), I think, would be to talk to someone at Kinko's to see what formats they support and/or prefer. Personally, I believe that since you're paying them to do the work, you should be able to walk in the door, hand them a disc (or USB key drive, or whatever), and say "I want this image printed to these specific dimensions (whatever the size of your map is). The squares in the image should be exactly 1" in the final output."
Here is Webmaster J.T.'s summary of the 3-page thread that I mentioned above:
Webmaster J.T. wrote:
1) Do the math and figure out how big it is going to be first. If you have a full Dundjinni map (8" x 10" at 1/4" grid) it will be 16" x 20" at 1" grid.
2) Export your map to BMP at 200 DPI. (I believe the other formats do not have variable DPI.)
3) Take the file to the shop and say "I have a 16" x 20", 200 DPI image in BMP format that I would like printed at exactly those dimensions on heavy paper." |
