Here's the preview I was too tired to upload with the files:

This is the gold only variant.

dDemonicAngels: I can make these in pretty any shape desired. The pile itself is made with a fairly simple technique, the shading is hand-drawn afterwards. Make a request; my imagination isn't working too well these days.

Ah, I see. How about a relatively flat pile? And a couple of mounds, medium and a bit steeper. These really look great. Thanks.

How's this, dDemonicAngels?

Download coin piles

I'll make a few more in various sizes and shapes.

Here's a squarish pile, for neatfreak villains and square treasure rooms.

Excellent stuff. I have this planned for a treasury for a Yuan-Ti invasion force. Thanks much!

Can these coins be used in other ways? Why yes, yes they can. Here's a cover variety.

Fill those treasuries!

I just know somebody will find a use for a coin floor.

Use it with dblade's hill overlays for, well, hills of money.

Download coin floor texture

I must admit that when I saw the first room full of coins, all I could think was:

"Where's Scrooge McDuck? He should be swimming through this."

--sorry. This will make for some very interesting maps. I can just see the player's eyes when a map like that is laid down.

That was my thought too. Gah. I now have this urge to have a Scrooge-ish villain in a coming adventure.

dDemonicAngels: Just about anything. This one is real easy, as the number of tiles in the floor set should indicate.

Metajock: Actually, I feel like I'm cheating, since this is fairly simple and quick stuff. ;-) But hey, as long as you guys like it, I ain't complainin'.

Shhhhhh, yer givin' away trade secrets!!!! <grin> It's almost always the simple techniques that give the best results.

Scotty (paraphrased): "I always multipy my initial times by 10. How do you think I keep my reputation as a miracle maker?"

Actually it should be:

Kirk: Mr. Scott, do you always multiply your repair times by a factor of 4?

Scotty: Of course, sir, how do you expect me to keep my reputation as a miracle worker?

Sorry - couldn't resist.

It took a while to put together a set of good-looking coins, but yeah, easy street after that. Now if I can just manage to make a good-looking gem set... Gems are harder than you think!

Photoshop and Splat!. Not all that difficult. Putting together a good source file can take some time.

I know of one: pngcrushGUI. Haven't used it myself, so I don't know how it is. I'm happy with the command line tool and a couple of custom buttons in my file manager.
