Hello,

I'm workin in a Fading Suns' campaign and I need to map a Spaceport. Somebody know where I can find space ships? If they are rusted better.

And by the way, when it will be a sci-fi pack?

Thanx.

You mean like Campaign scale, right? Cause I've been thinking about
doing some actual space ship interior maps, like from Aliens and the
countless bad SF copies. I'm also working on a Flying Saucer interior, your
typical LGMs and such.
For Campaign scale I think we'd need to know a little more about what
size ships you mean, styles, colors, shapes, that sort of thing. While I
know Fading Suns exists, I've never seen any product and know nothing
about it's art style.

OK, I just went to the Holistic Designs web page and I see that there are 2
deckplans books available. If I can track down someone to let me borrow
these I can start working on some ships.

Yeah, I was talking about scale size maps, but further in my campaing I will need normal-scale maps.

The world of Fading Suns is something like Dune, you know: big ships, but old-fashion aspect, rusted, not too hi-tech, dark iron. The size can be anyone, from big merchants ships to small one-man drived.

I'm working in a extense campaign and I will need everything that seems futuristic or modern.

By the way, I saw the weapons and it were excelent.

Chemo.

PD: Sorry for my bad english, but I'm spanish :)

Don't worry about it. Your english is better than my spanish. Just cause I
married an english teacher doesn't mean I act like one.;)

I'm not too sure what you're looking for, and I rarely do futuristic objects. But I thought I'd give it a try to let you know that people are looking!

If this isn't useful, tell me what you'd rather see. Perhaps I can still help?

I like it, it will be useful. But perhaps was better not so rusted. This one is perfect for a long-time lost space ship, but it seems it can't fly again ;)

I have in mind space ships perhaps like star wars, but a little ruined, as it were repaired a lot of times.

Thanks for your work!

Hello GroovyDave Hero

I wondering if you be willing to help me out on the following project. I try and let you know what I like to see. I sure you know that there is a boardgame called Doom. It work on a tile board that you make up. A few friend are thing of doing a Alien vs Predator vs Marine version. And after read your idea I though that it would be really cool if you could make up the Alien and Predator interiors. And maybe have a big tile version of each ship and then have planet surface tile that would lead into a spacestation tile map. Or just doing a map of the interior of ships and spacestation. I was thing of a big map the has three section on it. 1 for the alien 2 marines and 3 for the predators. I have an idea of what I like to see just have find someone that work it out. And evern if my friends dont get round to doing the game am sure someone will like the map and spark of rule idea.

Let me know what you think. I hope we and anyone else that has ideas can work on it together.

Thanks
Graham

Someone (Cecil?) is doing sci fi tiles (search), and I am also working on some - very grungey, generic. I am inspired by Hybrid and Space Hulk, but not copying in any way.

If I can do a small plug, I have virtually no artistic ability (especially in this talented company) but Real Draw (and I guess something like Xara) has let even me make some WOW tiles, even if I say so myself. Yes, I know, I will get them posted.

I too would love to see some small spaceships, any style. Here are the most exciting I have seen for a while (again, inspi only):

I should have a map and DJA posted before the week is out. Made with all user-art.

I am having trouble with some of the floor markings for the hangar, so it'll probably be rather boring and plain until other folks jump in and help out.

Yes, you should be able to use the DJA.

I'm not sure if many of my small ships are grungy enough for you, tho' Many are kinda garish (Honest Al finds that they sell better if they have a snazzy paint job, even if they can't haul more than a stick of butter)

Hi Cecil

Did you have any thought on the Alien vs Predator vs Marine map idea that I had.

Thanks

Graham,
Here shortly you should be able to do some of those maps yourself.

But I don't think I'll be able to get much alien or hive-type of material in the initial batch. That's an interesting challenge for the future tho'

Chemo,
I think this is the best I have for you. A small two-seater. It's a render of a model called "Wasp", but Honest Al calls it the "ghost". You can see why as soon as shadows are added.

I have quite a few other ships that will be of use to you, all fairly grunged but not quite so dark.

EDIT: Looking back at this, it is probably a little small. Ensure you scale it up a bit. I'll improve the originals for later.

As I am still getting up to speed, these are some works in progress. All advice welcome - especially on lighting.

Some of these look very nice. One point I figured out after the fact was to save some blank textures, without any rivets/etc. The blank textures can be dropped into walls folders. I'm going back and working on that area now.

Some great textures there. My suggestions are only to try to get at least 4-6 tiles per set, otherwise some of these have strong textures that will look repeated, and to remove the highlight at the top of some of those, that will make them look tilted and overlapping rather than flat on the floor, once you fill an area with them. (Noticeable in 5-10.)

As I said, they are works in progress. The PNGs and sets will come.

I have worked out how to lose the highlight this afternoon!

I don't know what to do for walls, even though I see many of these being walls. Pls advise.

Thanks for input.

The charger series of vehicles will be soon be available for your fleets--hopefully before the weekend.

(This is a JPG--the PNG wouldn't fit)

Since I never saw Cecil's Charger ship on the board, I shrunk it to postable size, and then modified one for myself. Now, like every object I post, and every map, it will be covered with Graphitti....my new raison d'etre.

Enjoy, and fight on!

my version: GUNS and Graphitti!!!!
