Hi,

Made 4 light grey and 4 dark grey floor tiles. I can make a lot more to get a larger set per color and I can also make a lot of different colors. BUT: there must be at least 1 person who wants them ...

A few other possible colors:

I can think of some uses for these. But let's see--how do I describe the coloring I could use best?

First option: The surface stonework needs to be sort of golden yellow with a tinge of red, the background (cracks) a darker version of the same color, almost verging on brownish (to which moss will be added).

Second option: A tannish version wouldn't be bad for a desert environment, either (this would probably fit the eroded textures better).

I can do two colors per backgrond/foreground.

How's this? (RedYellow01)

Or (RedYellow02)

Or (Tan)

And five extra ones (Purple-Orange, Blue, Green, BrownOrange and Grey):

Ok, just tell me which colors you'd like ...
I'm definitely going to make 6 or 8 tiles for the colors PurpleOranje, Tan, Grey (Light and Dark).
Any other colors?

It's a toss-up between the tan version and the brown-orange version. I think brown-orange wins out, for my purposes.

Your final grey version looks inverted, which might be nice for those building runes into their floors. But I'd also want some non-textured versions with just the background.

I'm looking for tiles to use in some ruined ancient ziggurat maps, as floors and walls. I think that the tan and/or brown/orange tiles would work nicely.

At this rate, I'm spending more time picking a wall and floor texture than I'm spending building a room.

Choices, choices.

Thanks Kepli for making my choice that much more difficult!

Here are the Purple-Orange and the Tanned ones (each 6, the -a version is in it again):

Next the Brown-Orange ones ...

Like this Cecil:

Would you like a few more and if yes, how much (these are much simpler to make). maybe other colors?

Or one big tile (600x600)?

That's it. I generally make 9 versions and leave it at that. I plan on bevelling the edges, so they don't need to be seamless at all.

Not sure how many of the engraved ones would be needed--I think those should be relatively unique. This is just off the top of my head, but I figure one of the engraved versions in the middle of an entry or room and the rest the nromal floor tile.

Is this just the cracked tool in Texture Maker? And how did you make the engravings? (sounds like a tute is called for here)

As far as other colors, you might want to match them up with the floors you're already making here. I'm fine with just the grey.

Kepli--

I could use them best if I had them in straight black and white-- black grout, white raised surfaces-- with no bevel at all.

Then I can set my own textures and bevels pretty easy in photoshop.

These are better than your previous flagstones, I think.

Excellent tiles Kelpi.

I have a quick request though. With the broken stone pattern
(like the Brown-orange a few posts up) could you make a pale
yellow/putrid lime green set?

I want to create a long lost overgrown temple that has been
taken over by a growth of funguses and mushrooms.

(and another idea if you are looking for them, how about a red
set maybe with blackish accents for a fiery region (I'm thinking
burnt stonework)

Thanks in advance,

Craedus Stonebeard.

Thanks much!

I have the perfect use for the brown-orange ones. The plain black and white ones you did for wulf will also be highly useful.

Kepli,

The red/black tile is right on. As far as the other two, I think the
yellow stoned/green background one looks a little better for
what I have in mind.

Thanks in advance for any sets you make from them!

Ok, here they are:

Or do you like a more uniform Yellow-Green tile like this:

Nah. I like the green/yellow set you did above. The washed
out effect tends to blend a little better. I'm happy with that.
(Unless you want to create a new set with the bolder colored
tile. I don't want to limit your creativity )

The burnt red tiles are excellent!

Both sets are greatly appreciated! Thanks again!!

I think the Grey and the Brown/Orange are my favorites too. You should see them in action (See Slash's "Ziggurat Entrance" and "Flooded Crypt" maps)

thanks mate.

please dont take this the wrong way but i believe there is a tiny problem with your colored tiles. i think a picture illustrates it best:

as you may see your dark fillings seem very flat in comparison to the rest. also since you use 2 very different colors for the stones there is a very visible repeating there. Your grey ones dont have that problem. Its also in your brown tiles but not that visible as in the others. i hate to be so picky when you do so much work, i just think there is room for improvement if you just tweak the colors a bit. a little more uniform might work wonders.

Still a great job

Great tiles, Kepli. I was wondering if you could make
a brown-orange version of the yellow sun tile?

Thanks.

I rotated some of the tiles (before importing them into DJ) to see if that would get rid of the repetitive effect. The tiles do not blend as well, but it still made for a very nice uneven floor effect.

The entire batch of the green-on-green is in the Fantasy UserArt/Floors section of the CSUAC. I figured it also made for a nice alien flooring.

Very cool Cecil. I will try to make more tileable ones the next time

I'll use this trick on the brown-orange and purple tiles and post an additional batch.

You know, Kepli, if they were more tileable I'm not sure you would've gotten the uneven effect. Personally, I like how this one worked.

Great tiles, Kepli. I was wondering if you could make
a brown-orange version of the yellow sun tile?

Thanks.

Some extra tiles for a few of the textures (rotations):
AZ4_BrownOrange.zip
EB7_Grey1.zip
8ZZ_Grey2.zip
ZD3_Grey3.zip
AA5_PurpleBlack.zip

Nope, although that one's nice too. I meant the one
with the sun, that's missing the rays on the bottom,
kinda like it's rising above the horizon. That would
look good on a temple floor.

Ok, let's see if I get it right now ...
You want a Brown-Orange version of this one?

Yup, that's the one.

Hey, I just noticed, it now says Legend by your name.
Nice going, Kepli.

Thanks Octavian, they must have changed something, because a whole bunch of us (with #post over a certain number) have becomes "Legends". Sounds pretty nice ...

I'll see if I can recreate this tile (has been a while ago) with Brown-Orange.

I suspect it was my post about them being "Tough GMs".
