easy fix, at least as far as the color is concerned. open your map in a program like Paint.net and use the "color picker" eyedropper symbol. it will match the palette to your map's color... as for the texture itself, that i cant help with. maybe you can slice off a small square of it and enlarge to create another tile?

Hi there all,
I don't know if this would be of any interest or of any use to any of you. I don't have the Dunjini or any other software other than Photoshop, Terragen, and Google Sketch Up. I've been making my own maps in PS for the past few years when I stumbled in here while looking for ISO stuff for my maps. I saw that the discussion in this thread delved into world creating and this is exactly what I've been doing. I am not sure if what I have done can be incorporated into DJ or not. I wanted my maps to look like they came straight out of Google Earth so my emphasis was heavy on the realism side, but I adapted them to suit the more retro feel as well. My maps are top down and I'm not sure if the parts could be turned into brushes or stamps or what not, but since there are numerous layers it shouldn't be too hard. The thing is my maps are all completely random, generated by clouds, difference clouds, lighting effects, embossing, gradients, layer styles, etc. If you think this could be something worth looking into then I would need someone to volunteer to test things out in DJ (since I am a poor glass artist who can't afford much of the software out there). I work at various scales, making a few continents then putting them all into one large earth map (25,000 X 12,500). I've learned many things over the past few years (beaches are irrelevant because they're too small).   The original image is 3000 X 3000 at a dpi of 1000 (this gives me a 1 pixel = 1 mile). I shrunk it down to 700 X 700 to get the file size under 500kb.

This is a 700 pixel section of the swamp for the snake people (I don't know the D&D terms since these maps are purely for my own fantasy escapist ruminations) at full scale.

As mentioned before there are numerous layers here (mountains, hills, rivers, land, lakes, continental shelf, reefs, and ocean (as well as 3 layers of color adjustments and additional airbrushing to make the land look like you are on on the space shuttle). I'm sure that someone might be able to desaturate the mountains (black and white) and use them as a height map in a 3d program to make them even more realistic. If anyone is interested let me know,

I have none of the expertise you refer to ( I make dungeon maps mostly ), but I still think your continent map looks cool! Nice Job.
