I am experiencing extremely poor performance out of Dundjinni when working with a campaign map.
Powerbook G4 - w/1 gig of RAM. Anybody else experiencing slow down or unresponsiveness?

Hmmm, I've got a iBook G4 with only 256 mb of ram. It slows down the
more objects I put on the map, but as I understand it that is to be
expected given the environment. Some of the gurus here have suggested
some things to help aleviate this, so I'm sure you'll get a response soon.

I've gotten decent response from a G4 Cube with a 450 GHz processor and 256MB RAM.
In the manual, there are tips on some of the various tools describing potential slowdowns and their workarounds. In the Help file, search for all instances of the word "performance".
Also, organizing any additional artwork that you introduce to the program will help. Try not to put a lot of artwork into a single folder, but instead, try to spread it around into new folders. Just make sure to copy the ~properties file from an existing folder of a similar art type to your new folder.
Example: A new folder, "Cover - Shadows" is created to add shadow PNG files to. Copy the "~properties" file from the existing "Cover" folder into this new folder.
Not a fully comprehensive answer, but I hope it helps.

Thanks for the help. I will definitely look into splitting up the art work and search on performance.

For me - it was forests - or rather a bunch of little trees making up the forest that was causing the performance problems. Took them away (for now) and performance is acceptable again. I think I may run into again (especially with larger maps) but at least I know why.

There's actually one large tree file in the Wild Cover, Large set that takes up entirely too much memory. I've taken to not using the large tree, and just resizing the smaller trees as necessary.
