Here is another tutorial. I use just one example, but when you know how to make this one, you'll probably be able to make different ones with ease ...

This is what we are going to make ...


First we set snap-to-grid on Center of Cell, pick the 5-foot square brush and draw a piece of a wall. Remember, this is just one example ...
I leave Raised Walls and Shadows on to better see what happens.


Then we erase the part where the statue should be. Set snap-to-grid on Vertice and erase the middle part.


Now set snap-to-grid on Center of Cell again, pick the 2,5 foot square brush and select the Draw-curve pencil.
Draw from left-down to middle-up and bend the line until the start is vertical up and the end is horizontal. It should look like this:


Now exactly the same for the other side.


Draw a 2,5 foot line straight down on both sides (pencil on free-hand or line now). Result:


Pick the 5-foot square and use the eraser to remove the bottom parts. And then the first part is finished.


Now we start again, but with a different wall and a 3-foot square brush (instead of 5-foot).
First the basis.


Erasing with snap-to-grid on Vertice and a 5-foot square brush.


Use a 1-foot square brush, snap-to-grip on Center of Cell and the Draw-curve pencil to make two curves.


Extend the ends (pencil on free-hand).


Use a 2-foot square brush and snap-to-grid on Vertice to erase the unnecessary parts.


Now fit the two parts together. Most likely snap-to-grid won't work anymore, so you have to use a steady hand.


When you are sattisfied with the result SAVE IT!!!. You can use the piece many times. Now you can fill in the rest.

In my map it looks like this ...



A one minute work hedge niche with two layers, buy using only one size brush per layer ...


I also tried straight lines, starting or ending in other ways ... it all works

WARNING:When you use the same wall texture, they will blend together ...

If you really want those textures to look alike, you can:
* use wall textures that look fairly the same
* copy the complete wall-set to a slightly different name and you will have created a different wall that looks exactly the same (doesn't work for Fluid art --> .djx-files)

The short answer is you can't.

Floor and wall tiles have to be exactly 200x200pixel square tiles in png format.

If you make something like this and want to use it in another map in the future, you would make this on a blank page, save it as if it were a map giving it a name like "Stone Niche". then when you want to use it, open "Stone Niche". Use the Rectangle Select Tool (orange square with blue arrow), select all , and select the artwork. Now do CTRL C to copy it. Close the Stone Niche map, and open the map you want to put the niche on.
When you hit ctrl V it will paste the niche onto the new map in the upper left corner and you can move it where you want it.

Hope that makes sense.
