Hello oh wise ones,
What have you found to be the easiest way to take a map you created in DJ and export it to PDF in battlemat size (1" = 5') in 8.5 x 11?
I create my maps at home but print at work and am looking for the easiest way to do that.
Thanks.

I just select an 8"x10" region of my map, select the "Generate Battlemap" option, then print the resulting map section to a PDF printer. I have Adobe Acrobat, but if you don't want to spend money on such a thing, there's a program called "CutePDF" that will provide you with a "PDF printer".

I hope that 8x10 works well enough for you.
To do 8.5x11 sections, I'd most likely export the whole map out as a BMP graphic and chop it up into smaller sections in Gimp or Photoshop. Then, take those sections and "print to PDF".

I think 8 x 10 works better as I believe (not 100% positive) that the result will also print better on the paper used by our friends in Europe

This friend can agree; we use A4 i.o Letter. But eh Cecil, you're in Germany, so you are one of OUR friends ... or are you caught between two worlds ... hmmm, I feel a story forming ...

Yes 8 x 10 is a better match for the standard A4 size widely used elsewhere.
Open Office is also a usful PDF creator as you can integrate text, images, spreadsheets and then export to PDF all within the same application.

Thanks for all the help. The selecting and generate battlemap was what I was doing, but it is a little clumsy. I was hoping there was something I missed, but it doesn't seem like it.
Thanks again.

I use a pdf printer...just print the whole screen and instead of picking my handy dandy inkjet pick the pdf995. Its free, and is very easy to use....I generally compress the pdf's though...they is biguns.
