I tried making some walls and had these problems:

The left one happens when I used the marquee tool and the other one happened when I tried to stamp that wall pattern. I have no problems with the seamless tile wall patterns. Am I doing something wrong?

I believe that the stamping should work (at least for floors it does), but certainly not the marque or pencil. Those use 200x200 texture tiles to fill the area you draw. So a larger object would show up as its upper-left part over and over again.
You can prevent this by placing those objects in a folder with Object or Cover properties. F.i. that piece of wall is in a folder named Ground Cover on my computer, that has the Cover properties.

Hmmm, I believe Slash is much better at explaining this stuff. This should also be covered in the manual.

You know what, Im pretty sure that's what I did. I moved it to a folder for walls because it said walls. That explains why anything that's not a tile texture looks funky. That was smart! What can I say, Im a dork!
