As per your request...
These cows were rendered in Rhino from existing models taken off of one of the freebie sites. The first was skinned in Rhino, the second was hit with a color burn technique with a different cow texture in PS.
These were easy. I'm gonna try a few more things later, playing with the original model, but I'm busy with my next serious project...
Edit: There was something funky about the second cow's shadow, so I redid it...

MJ, you are getting pretty good at this. I would like to do some new "skins" for deer, bears etc. Have any suggestions?

To be honest, I'm really an amature at this. I'm really going to have to say that I'm just getting really lucky with my results.
Go over to Renderosity and look at their tutorials. Also, if you're using a Daz product, see if they have any templates available for those animals. Also, you can look at the individual graphics for each animal, and use them as a template. (REMEMBER: Back up the original!! Then, back up the backups!!! Only work with a copy.)
Addition: There's also a really nice little tool called UV Mapper. It makes a 2D map from the .obj file itself, so you can then do whatever you want with it. (I would try finding the templates first, just to get an idea of what goes where...)

Here's another one. Just warped the obj file a little, and recentered the texture I pulled off of Google image search...

I gotta say the title of this thread brought back memories of the Muppets. Guess its a "Pigs in Space" reference.
I guess Im looking for a good 3d paint program. Zbrush is cool, but a little tough to get used to.
