Well, had to look up just what verdigris is, but now I know...

I was wondering of you fine folk could do up a copper candlestick that is covered with the green (verdigris)?

Would love you all to death then!

Don't you mean like a copper candlestick with a green patina on it?

verdigris is... icky whale blubber.

Maybe he's mapping out Moby Dick
(It's how I learned about verdigris, anyway)

Straying further off the topic without posting candlesticks... but Verdigris is the correct term for the green patina that copper achieves.

I believe you might be referring to Ambergris as the "icky whale blubber" substance. (actually a hardened secretion produced by a Sperm Whale's intestines... still icky, eh? But supposedly smells good... ) Perfumery and Faux Finishing are just two of my many interests. LOL

FYI Verdigris is comming from the french expression "vert de gris" that means "green from gray". and it's the colour of the oxyd of copper :)

Fyi: Verdigis comes from the term Vert de Grece, meaning green of Greece. (Google dictionary is your friend.)

LOL

Thanks for the candles, they are awesome!

Excellent candles r-Kelleg

I bet verdigris as used is just a Americanisation of "vert de gris" LOL

Nice job on the lit candel. Good job.

Not sure about the patina job, but I think that might be just a personal problem on my part. (Don't like the effect in real-life, myself, but very useful here!)

Good job. *Oliver Twist puppy-eyes* More, please? <grin>
