Hey Greytale -

What are your shadow/glow settings on these? I really like the nice tight look it has.

Thanks,

The shadow on the shiny chest image is set in PSP as:

Offset
Vertical 0
Horizontal 0

Attributes
Opacity 80
Blur 20
Color Black

Generally, this is where I start with the shadow and I change the settings based on feel of the image.

The glow on the chest itself is done in realdraw and I bashed at it to get it right. More of a "hey that looks cool" than tweaking settings.

Since I am considering taking the plunge into Photoshop.
I figure I would test out making a piece. What better way than with a crate.

Bonus I also updated the empty strongbox so it wasn't so dark inside.

I second that notion. I was thinking of putting chickens inside with a few heads sticking out the sides.

Will do on the empty crate and maybe I will put some other stuff in too.

Does anyone find the crate to be too light?

Yes, I thought it was a floor grate at first.    Should be more woodlike. Tan perhaps?

Ohh that's not good. I added some more texture on these new ones hopefully it will bring it out more.
Was shooting for the dried grey wood look.

Today's luncheon special! We are having chicken.

Thanks for the donation from the Dorpond turkey and chicken farm.

Don't worry, Greytale. You just know I'm going to keplify them into a variety
of wood shades.

Lordcallubonn, when you do a mod, you should add your initials at the end
of the filename.

Nice crate, btw.

Too cool, Greytale. Hard to believe you make this stuff in 2D and not 3D.
The lighting on that piece is incredible.

Those number are generated by the site, so we always remove them when saving the item or we remove them after we saved. So you don't have to leave them in the name, since they serve no purpose whatsoever.

Excellent mods lordcallubonn

Thanks for the compliment. These are done in Paint Shop and Photoshop.

Also everyone, I updated an issue I saw with the treasure chest and reposted.

Hey guys, I'm still somewhat dundjinni handicapped and was wondering if
you could zip the chests on this thread.    I do have Photoshop and the
main program but, haven't taken the time to figure out how to export
anything to dj yet. I'm currently working on ideas for a 'Pirates of the
Caribbean' rpg campaign and need some floorplans of taverns and such so,
the chests will certainly help out. Thanks.

Hi pnyoomah,
To use any of the images here on the forums the first thing I suggest is that you use Firefox or some other non Microsoft Internet Explorer type browser as we seem to have a weird bug with IE, besides Firefox is much better :)

Now if you want to use an image in Dundjinni you first need a place to put it. I suggest you use the folders in the "User" folder already provided by Dundjinni.

By default the location is
C:\Program Files\Fluid\Dundjinni\Map\Fantasy\User
You should see a number of folders in this folder already
being a chest you might want to put it in the "Object" folder, the "Treasure" folder or both.

Say you want to put it in the "Object Folder" then you would just right click the image and select the "Save Image As..." menu.
Then navigate the "Save Image" dialog to
C:\Program Files\Fluid\Dundjinni\Map\Fantasy\User\Object
and click "Save"

The next time you start DJ you'll be able to use the piece of art by finding it in the
Genre : Fantasy
Pack : User
Type : Object
Map Items

Often the original poster will or some other community member will zip up images when a thread first starts and post the zip up if there are many images in the post but as posts get old and an occasional image gets added this becomes more work then it is generally worth. Because the post the zip file is in often gets buried meaning most people viewing might end up visiting almost ever page because the zip might not be on the last page and the last zip may not have all the images.

Hope this helps.

I'll look for it, thanks Wayne. Being a Mac user, sometimes things aren't
friendly as far as language and such.    I really love some of the
creations done on this site and wish that I had half the time and talent to
create some of it.      Or, at least give it a try.

Because I like to continually add new stuff I tend not to zip a lot unless I know I am done with a certain group of items. But don't fret the answer is coming soon. Really soon.    (Insert additional cryptic message here)

I know this is a really old thread, but I was wondering if I could get a version of the crates broken down into a bottom/side layer and a separate top piece? That way I could stuff them with my own goodies for the market pieces I'm working on. Here kitty kitty kitty...

I agree with LancerX. I really wanted to put some bizzare stuff in some of those crates, but I don't have the ability to removes bits and pieces to make it looke usable.

And yeah, a cat was one of the things I had planned on boxing up.

If you guys can make use of Photoshop (CS2) format, here's a "modular/layered" crate that you can populate with whatever you want. Kepli's mod of Cecil's skunk is included as an example.

Thanks for the fast response! But dang, it looks like you guys are using a mask over the contents. Not that there's anything wrong with that! For some reason I was thinking there was a separate crate top layer obscuring the contents. I'd like to avoid switching out to PS3 everytime I want a new kind of crate, so I may try to rebuild this one into those separate layers.

All my crates and boxes from this thread are now available at the Nook, for easy packing. As well a new one featured in the new Cranny section. This new section (on the front page) will hold all the little objects that are open for public download. No registration required. I intend to change the object often, so check back every once in awhile. And if you want to register and come chat in the forums with myself, Kepli, dDemonicangels, Alynnalizza, Bogie, Aegean and the rest of the Nook crew, we are always glad to have you.

Enjoy and Happy Gaming.
