GREAT Stuff AndyPan!!!

One tip though on naming your files:
Instead of: ARL_cobra_crystal_ball_clear
Please do this: crystal_ball_cobra_clear_ARL

It typically goes like this:
(Type of item)_(Major ID feature or 01, etc.)_(Color/Transparent)_(Artists initials)

It helps all of us if we all try to keep the same (general) naming convention.

Thanks!!

Keep the GREAT art coming!
GTech

They are actually overhead shots of some Egyptian statuary that I picked up in Vegas this past January. Got the idea to try it out after seeing someone had taken an overhead photo of a mini. When I saw this thread about the need for a sphinx, figgered I'd give it a shot. I have a Thoth, a Bast, an Anubis on a treasure box, and another sphinx I can do, if anyone's interested. Let me know! Glad you like them.

The last of my Egyptian-style offerings. A couple variations of reclining Anubis on chest (of course, virtually no view of chest from top down... oh well), some color variations of a ram-headed sphinx, and my personal fave, the Thoth statue. I have included Bast in a gold version, but less than thrilled with her. Straight top down view looks like nothing, and unfortunately, the slight frontal view I gave her, while it looks okay both her and in DJ, on a map, probably not so good. But I give it to you anyway. Enjoy!

Great Job AndyPan!

Here's another option for Bast:
How about laying it on its back, kind rolled to the side a little ... Like the statue has been toppled over?

We don't have many toppled or broken statues on the forums.

Thanks,
Gtech

AndyPan,

These are fabulous. I am currently doing a home-made Anuroch desert campaign that uses Thoth as the center of seven gods. You've just given me the idea for the final showdown that will involve a temple to the seven gods. And now I have 6 statues that I can use to represent the gods. Fantastic!

Of course you know what that means...

The chances of another Egyptian statue are pretty slim. About the only other statue I have that I could photgraph is a 12" bust of Tut's head, which, like Bast, doesn't photograph well top down. I will give it a shot, though, and see how he looks. I do have a request to friends for other statuary photos, so it's possible I might get something, just unlikely to be in the Egyptian theme.

And anyone that does a map with these guys, PLEASE post! I haven't tried any of them on a map yet, only on a blank screen to see if size and shadows looked right. Be very interested to see what you guys do with them. Thanks!

dDA is going to make a map? Nah, If that was the case, I would have been on time for the map contest since both are near impossibilities...

Okay, okay. I promise to enter the next contest, providing it's about a pyramid in a desert centered on 7 gods and a time machine. But that's all I'll promise...

Well, now I won't have to agonize over what the next contest will be on if I win the right to decide.
