If people like them I will add more variations. Ahhh, I might do it anyways even if you don't.

Keywords: Trapdoors, hatches, cellar doors, grates

Hatches

Trapdoor

Old Versions

New Version better detail and coloring Added 4/11/07

For additional securiy on the trapdoors to keep bad things in.

Overlays my pre-existing trapdoors.

An extra inviting trapdoor

Interior sloped wine cellar door or bulkhead.
Note: It is meant to sit against wall.

Exterior Cellar Door Weathered

Trapdoor items (I left these a little larger for bigger projects)

Round Grate

1X1

5X5

15X15

Small "tight squeeze" grate. Added 5/8/06

In use with black floor

A round version Added 5-9-06

Png

Heck yeah! A dark wood version would be great. And could you post the iron
hinges and pull-ring as separate items?

I need to make another Star Wars Map...   but every time you come out with something good, I have to make a D&D Minis Map with it!!!

I have thought of modern stuff...but it was just a thought.
Some of these and some others I will be adding are probably cross genre...like the metal hatch and doors.

Wine cellar door or bulkhead. If people like this I will do an exterior version with weathered wood.

Added to main post.

It is meant to sit against a wall.

Great! Thanks. It could also be used as stocks.

You know, with only a minor modification, that could be made into one of
those wooden crosspieces used to seal shut wooden gates and double
doors.

Or swap out the metal bits for some wrapped rope, add a wooden
centerbeam, and you've got a crucifix.

The new trapdoor: I LOVE IT!!!

The Crossbar: GREAT thinking GreyTale!!!

Extra security is always great ... gotta keep out/keep in those pesky adventurers

Great work as always GreyTale!!!

Can't wait for the top down version for regular doors, Great Idea!

I like it! How about a slighty more distressed version? Minor bending of the bars or the like.

Some color variations of the grate:

Edit: Added some variants with an inside shadow, useful in case there's
some other surface just on the other side of the grate.

Greytale, any chance of a round version? Might be good for sewers, wells,

Thanks.

I wish I could make original art like this. For now, I'm just doing mods of
other folks' work.

Dungarvon's art is awesome. I hope he comes out of lurker mode and starts
posting again.

Nice updates!

You definitely improved the look of those trapdoors, congratulations!

Would you mind sharing a bit about what you did to improve the textures?

Stupid Question?

Have yall made matching floor tiles using the wood pattern so that the trapdoor will blend in with the floor?

Hi,

Made this ...open drain on RpgMapshare... and thought the little stopcock might be of use to someone.

Simply a smaller version of GreyTales classic stone hatch with a slight colour change...

...and with the stone cover removed revealing RKelleggs stopcock.
