I am getting the same thing. The installer gets all the way to what looks like the end, then stops at "Copying d20srd.chm" and will never finish. Can't get the product to install on my computer either, quite aggravating.

Any suggestions out there?

The last few pages of the "Improper Installation" issue thread at the top is in discussion of this bug now. Steve, the programmer working on the next patch, could really benefit from any details you have on the problem. Please post there and give some details on what computer you have, the point where it froze, etc.

All that kind of info can really help him find the bug to fix in the next patch.

Yes, any additional detailed information would be a great help.

I'm curious, are you attempting to download the program or are you attempting to install the program?

These would be two distinctly separate issues, and it's imporant to differentiate.

Thanks,
GTech

OS:
Downloaded the installer (Through IE 6.x)
I have Windows XP Pro (All Windows Updates have been done)
Java 1.4.2
McAfee 8.0i (Up to date)

Machine:
Dell Laptop (Latitude D610)
Centrino 2.2GHz
1GB Ram
24GB of free HDD space (100GB total)

Problem I see:
- It gets to the very end, says it is 100% done, and there are 0 files left to copy.
- Even though it says the above, it sticks on copying D20 SRD Reference (d20srd.chm)
- I let it sit at that point and went to lunch, 1.5 hours later it was still there.
- Tried to do an uninstall and it tells me it can not find a file to uninstall.
- Tried to install on top of itself - got the same error
Manually removed it, tried a install again and got the same thing.
- Turned off my Virus Scanner, did all the above - same results.

Anything else that would be useful?

Thanks for the info. I'll pass it on to Steve so he has this additional info on the problem.

EDIT- Seems GTech1 already alerted Steve. Thanks GTech1!

No problem Webmaster Scott.

HonJull,
My install is from the retail CD, so I am not entirely familiar with the specifics of the download installer. But I'll do what I can.

Info: The d20srd.chm file is the DJ help file. After a successful install, it is located in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Fluid\Dundjinni\Help

Thanks for the detailed info, everything *appears* to be in order.

One question that I would have though:
Do you have Administrator priviledges on the machine?

Also a suggestion:
You may have a corrupted download. Verify that all traces of DJ have been removed from your machine, re-download DJ from the store, then attempt your install again.

Hope this helps,
GTech

I'm having a similar problem in that it says "Program Startup Error". I was using java 1.6 and the program started but I couldn't stamp any objects. After removing that and downloading 1.5 I can't run the product at all. I tried removing all files and redownloading but have the same problem.
