Didn't have much time to work on this one (About 1/4 of the usual amount I use to make a map) so it's definetly a bit shoddy.
I needed three versions, so here's the day, dusk, and dawn of the same map. Alot of post-dundjinni photoshopping, obviously.

3 maps in 3 very different times of day, with significant postwork in PS, and you're calling it Shoddy?! Get rid of that blasted humbleness, those maps rock! Simple yet excedingly well-done. The night and shading effects are absurdly cool, if I had more time I'd try to learn how to do that.
Spotlight, anyone?

The maps are really good except for a couple nit picks.(I can't believe Ben didn't catch em'.) For the Dusk version, you have your created shadows falling to the right, but the shadow for DJ walls is down and to the left. I would turn the wall shadows off so they aren't conflicting. I guess you could argue that the roof of the building and the angle of the sun is causing it, though. Also, in the house, there should be some light coming in the other window given the light on the barrels below it. The window that has the light coming in shouldn't have light starting right at the window unless the window goes all the way to the floor. You could darken the chest area to get the window off the floor unless that's how it is.

Check the tips section. I posted a basic tutorial about... 10 minutes before you asked for one.
Thing is, I suck at teaching people stuff. So yeah, it's hard to make good tutorials, and the stuff is pretty basic... so if you have photoshop, and can use it a bit, you probably could do the shadows... thus rendering the tutorial useless.
edit: Thanks for the feedback, dragonwolf. I agree that the wall shadows are wrong, but I've always liked the feature in dundjinni and usually leave it on anyways. Maybe I'll try it without for my next map.
As for the window: Yes, thanks for pointing that out. I forgot that it wasn't a wall of glass, heh. For the second window, I decided to leave it. Still, thanks for the nitpicking, without it I probably would have missed all that stuff.

Lonefox,
I am very impressed with these maps. Except for the raised walls with shadows, the maps look like the style of maps I do using wall testures for blending. Not reviewed tutorial yet). I would be interested in talking to you further; would you please send me an email if interested. My email is in my profile.
