Regarding the Snap to Grid options: It would be nice to have a snap to the centre of a grid line. For use with 5' doors, etc.
Not sure if anyone mentioned that ;)

I am not sure to have proposed this earlier... but a way to automatically numerate hexes (with number and letter-number option) would be very very nice.

A way to have the toolbar become part of the "header" so they don't obscure part of the drawing space (like the was MS Office toolbars work)

Utilising a navigation system for switching between large scale maps that span over several canvases.
Ie.
That way you could just click on the next map and have it load in one seamless step rather than go looking for it. If space is an issue for the desktop, then the ability to put connecting links on the edge of your maps. Something like a little signpost that says " next map that way." You just click and up she comes. You could also incorporate links for dungeons and towns etc from a large scale map. You click on a town name or image and wallah the town map loads.
Additionally could all the DM information included on maps be created on a layer that can be toggled on and off so that those using the map aren't privvy to stuff that they shouldn't be seeing. All other stuff can like floors and walls just reside on the "PC" layer.
Is it also possible to toggle the Room Token paint on and off without losing the room token?
Cheers and thanks for all the great work you guys do
Hawkmoon
PS Thanks to Cisticola for his classic map used in the above image.

Nice suggestions Hawkmoon
I like the several canvasses idea. In DJ2 you will be able to create any size map you like, as long as you have enough memory to work with (flexible canvas size). But using links to other map pieces is a good way of being able to create even larger maps.
Layering will be very different and in control of the user, so using a layer for just DM stuff is definitely an option. Each layer can be exported separately.
I never use the Room Tokens, so I am not sure what can and cannot be done or will be possible in DJ2.

Hi,
I really like Myst Rangers sugestion of "a snap to the centre of a grid line. For use with 5' doors, etc."
On a similar theme; I switch a lot between snap on off and centre / vertice so:
At present I click "Tools \Snap to grid", then click "Options\ Snap Settings" then click "Vertice / Centre of cell" then click "Ok / Cancel".
Perhaps simplified create one menu item:
Snap Menu
-Snap Off
-Snap Vertice
-Snap Centre
This might save a lot of clicking and be simpler for beginners(?)
If Myst Rangers neat Snap Centre Grid Line was also adopted it would be a fourth option.

The interface will be simplified anyway ... and keys for most options will be added. Putting together those options is logical
