Hmmm...I have to say GT, this would be a start to a killer "stone" set. The colors and textures a beautiful and I for one would love to see an entire set made from them. Lots of us have 3d models for stuff like columns, railings, daises etc... we can all pitch in if you like.

I think two is a pair, three is a trio, four to twenty is a small offering, and any more than that is a set.

That is Fantastic!

Universal GreyTale translator spinning up:

Universal GreyTale translator activated:
I think they mean that they would like a Floor tile set made from the base textures.

A full Floor set would (usually) be 4 - 9 seamless tiles with a non-repetitive pattern.

Translator deactivated (temporarily).

This is definately a nice suprise. If people keep wanting more, I will do more and maybe it will become a "set" someday. But a "set" needs a name and as of yet none come to me.

I think what I like about the textures the most is that it has kind of a Minas Tirith feel to it. Something like a place of ancient Kings. Worn looking but still ornate.

Acronyms? Try this one

That is cool because I have been spending my other time playing and modelling in Games Workshop's LOTR tabletop game. Though these pieces weren't intended to fit into that world, it is cool that they do.

The makings of a real awesome Cathedral here....Ant chance on some pillars to go with. White/black marble, gargoyles...

Awesome work, a real gothic feel to this stuff.

I am inspired.

There is a pillar in the main post. As far as doing reskins, I may go back when I feel I am done with the set (or when the forum thinks I'm done )and do some stone texture changes if it is possible. Though it would defiantly get pushed aside in lieu of new content. I will leave coloring to the forum so I can continue to focus on new stuff.

Gargoyles - I would love to create gargoyles. If I can do them effectively I most definitely will.

Thanks again everyone for the compliments.

Feedback = Happy Greytale = Production

Gargoyles sound cool. Columns/pillars should be pretty easy to do, too. We should make a wish list

Added pool

A couple of notes

In Process

-Empty pool and green pool coming
-Zip needs to be updated

Corrections

-Altar needs to be updated in the zip and replaced in the post. I have corrected a few things I saw and also scaled it correctly. (Got tired and quality control dropped - midnight will do that to a person).
-Monuments are a shade darker so when set is complete I will match those more to these pieces.

Enjoy. Save yourself some time, I would recommend delaying downloading all items in this set if possible until it is complete.

Wow, these are super impressive. Did that pool get resized or something, it's looking a little blurred?

Yes it did. There is that quality control thing again and my midnight eye.

I felt it was way to small on the map.

This is the original which was planned to be 10x10

Does this look crisper?

Cripser!

Yup, I don't know wether it was the change of monitors or just a little time away from it but I do see the blurriness now.

Thanks for feedback everyone it only helps me get better at what I do.

What is it that I do now?

I don't consider that a nitpick just some helpful feedback. Please don't hesitate people, if I put out bad pieces then they won't get used and I am wasting my time. Constructive feedback helps me to learn and learning is always welcome.

These are the MOST impressive pieces I have seen since the orcish tents, cots, etc. I can't wait to see more pieces come out for this, including more floors and walls for variety.

THESE ROCK. Can't wait to do a map with just these pieces!!!!

Keep up the good work greytale,

A new floor tile. Enjoy

This is definatley my choice for floor tile.
I really like the looks of this piece.

Base only

Set with cracks (I prefer to stamp these over the base tile to elminate patterns.)

Base cross floor tile in use with crack tiles (Stamped not filled)

Zip floors (Includes alternate tiles)

51E_floor_greystoneset_gt.zip

P.S. walls are next.

Let see.

Monuments - Done
Pillars - Done
Altar - Done
Stairs - Done
Floors - Done
Walls - Hmmmmm?

Is there anything else people would like to see in the set?

Wall Texture

I want to see what people think about this. I would much prefer to do walls as objects.

Wall (Not yet zipped)

Very nice GreyTale ...

Definitely fits your current theme.
Can you create one or two more of these for a small wall-tile set?
They look also nice for use as transparent walls or covers.

That arch is very awesome, but I agree with Heruca, it's too perfect. How about a broken version?

Nice work Benwax. I will have more to color soon.

Also Ben check out your alternative wall thread in the Maps forum. I made an addition to it yesterday tell me what you think.

I picked up that set a couple weeks ago. It was free product of the week then. I haven't messed around with DAZ enough to figure out what settings I need to do Isometric renders yet though. The textures are pretty good though.

Hey GreyTale,

I definitely don't want to derail your efforts on the Tavern/Inn series, but could I (pretty please ) request a mod of the "Sarcophagus Added 8/2/06" on page 3 of this thread?

I need one without the lid, and my efforts have been *horribly* futile.

I haven't been able to get any convincing results.
(Pathetic huh? )

Could I get the lid separate too?
I need a "whole", a "slid off", and a "broken" version of the lid, but if you could just post the lid, I *should* be able to "Slide it off" and break it (I think ).

Very Humble Thanks,
GTech

No problem at all. I will see if I can get it started at lunch.

Greytale, don't know how I missed this entire thread!! All fantastic stuff, as everyone has already stated.

Feel free to post the larger files at RPGMapShare.com, files up to 11mb are allowed, either image or zip. You can then link to them from here if desired.

LOL do you know how hard it is to delay downloading these! Wonderful work here and I must admit I don't care how much clicking I have to do to get them!

The pool is perfect for a current project. . . .

I guess I should remove the download warning I don't anticipate any edits to the pieces already posted... Sorry Micah, feel free to download.

Excellent Work GreyTale!
And fast too!

Your demand is my wish!
... and I will, indeed, enjoy them!

If you have them on separate layers, can I talk you into posting the individual broken pieces as well?

The DJ sample looks GREAT!
I had already planned to do some tomb drapes like the black drape under the knight in your sample.

It would save me a great deal of time if you could post that as well, then I'll do all of the color mods.

Thanks so much Buddy!
GTech

P.S. You must be reading my mind, scale wise. Steel Rat's knight in your sample is exactly what I was going to use these for.

Very pretty.

Two Greytale items in one day is a good day.

Is there a fountain in this set yet? If not, it might be a good thing to add.
Either that or one of those stone holy water bowls on a pedestal.

This stuff really is amazing.

Thanks for making it available to all of us. I would expect all this stuff to be appearing in more than a few maps

Again, thank you very much!

This stuff is beautiful! <<Tears of joy] I can't wait to use it.

Since I don't have time to read all 21 pages [how cool is that!?!], is there one zip that would allow me to grap it all?

Thank you so much for your outstanding work!

Don't worry, all this work will probably be available soon as a free DJ user art-pack per Grey's request (see this post)
We will keep you all posted.

If you can't wait though, he posted all the updates in the very first post, along with zip-files.

Wow. I know this thread is old, but... Hell, it deserves a bump!

I can't really describe just the sheer weight of coolness evidenced here. This is, honestly, the kind of thing I expected to find in the Temple set - but best of all, it's free. Greytale, you rock. You don't rock. I mean, words fail to describe the ways in which this rocks.

If Jimi Hendrix erupted from the dead with a guitar in his hand and started straight into the Star Spangled Banner/Purple Haze like Woodstock, it might rock close to how much this rocks.

Aww shucks! Thanks ShadowDragon868. It might be an old thread but its not dead yet. Some of my others are the "Tavern and Inn" series and GTechs favorite "traps" both of which are also not dead just on a short hiatus.

Tavern Series

Traps Series

Added a new aqueduct to main page.

Here's 2 darker and two lighter sets.

Lighter floor and wall sets (~1MB)

Darker floor and wall sets (~1MB)

All I did was to to increase the brightness 50% and 100% and then decrease the brightness 50% and 100%. Most if not all image applications can do this simple kind of manipulation.

Thanks for taking up that effort DW. It is nice to see this bumped every once in awhile. Always makes me think I should do another for the collection.

Thanks for the keplifications and .zips, DW. Short and simple modifications, it's the way to go

Grey -- You should totally do more Stoneworks stuff. With the exception of your Tavern pack, I think your Stonework has been your best--very well done.
