Does anyone have (a sampler with) small forest critters, like squirrels, birds etc?

One of the CSUAC's has animals archived in it. You can find the CSUACs at the parlor (link in my sig).

Thanks, Cecil. I already have the CSUAC packs.

That's why i'm looking for small critters. We have big ones (bear, wolf etc), insectoids (spiders, ants, centipedes), but not the "smaller" ones, like squirrels, badgers, skunks, martens, wolverines, groundhogs and so on.

Hmm! A muskrat and it's "lair". Great! *Found and snagged*

Got also the halflings, the fish and the chickens.

Thanks for the tip, ForumLurker!

More "small" critters, anyone?

Hey, do Ducks count as small "forest" critters?

Ducklings!! Lots and lots of ducklings!
The Original Thread!!
More fowl waterfowl!
Pelican.

But yeah, we are a little short in the chipmunks-racoons-badger department... tons of giant frogs but not a single squirrel!

Nice links.

Many birds, reptiles, insects, large mammals & amphibians, but only very few small furry creatures...

Here are two more forest/woodland critters. I don't have a program to make shadows. the fawn should have a shadow aroung the bottom and lower part of right side.

fawn

giant squirrel

normal squirrel

and quicky jpg with them in woodland scene.

fawn hidden in ferns, squirrels in tree stump and on rock.

Hey, great! I think i will photoshop them tomorrow...

Thanks, dragonlady!

Hmmm! *cough*

Sorry, i have to cut it short. My "better half" is calling, because i'm still sitting on this darn computer.

Do you have squirrels as the "non-flying" kind?

Have to go.....

The squirrel I posted are tree climbing, not flying. I don't have any photos of the tree rats outside sitting up from an overhead shot. Flying squirrels have lots more 'skin' on their sides. Those things don't stay still!    I'll see if I can find one that is 'free' to use. It might take some time. I'm working on a raccoon now. Humm, I do have a side view of a chipmunk sitting up. No top down though.

An acorn for the dragonlady and odenham...

Looking forward for the racoon.

Does anyone have a groundhog or prairie dog? And i'm still looking for a wabbit ... umm ... rabbit. Maybe even with their burrows?

Can't do drop shadows as far as I know with GraphicConverter. Have yet to get GIMP. I need my computer expert (son) to load it in and make sure I have everything it needs.

Okay, clean up crew! calling the clean up crew!

Here are some more forest critters. Several views.

I cleaned up the chipmunks for you, Dragonlady. I also tweaked the color/contrast/saturation/size settings a bit on the flipped image, to make the two look slightly different, although it's hard to even notice unless you have them side by size like I do here.

Edit: And a third variant. I tweaked the tail to make it more unique, plus some sharpening and yet more color shift.

Thanks heruca. It's funny to me about that 3rd one you did. It originally had its tail hanging over a rock edge and you could barely see it. I took a tail from another chipmunk and 'attached' it. Your version is very close to the original picture!

Okay, finally figured out how to do shadow stuff using GIMP. Thanks for the tutoring by the way!

Here is an Ermine I did. I wasn't sure which version of shadowing to use, so pick which one you like.

I guess if you want it to be, it can. I agree the top down view does look kinda flat. I will take a look at the render.

Not a top down version from a photo. My drawing skills with my currant art program are less than perfect. I'm still looking for a 'freebie' view.

Same here. Here's a photo I was going to work from to change the coat color pixel by pixel. It is not a 'free pic' by the way, just using it for the colors.
