Here's what's happening.

I install DJ on my new PC. Update it to the newest version. Reinstall the addons (hammerfall, Modern Streets, etc). All is well.

I start adding my personal folders...Animals, Humanoids, etc. The main folders are in the map directory with Fantasy and Modern. So far so good.

If I exit DJ while one of my personal folders are chosen, the next time I run it, I get the improper installation issue. If I exit in Modern or Fantasy, it starts the next time fine.

Admittedly, easy enough to work around, but awful bloody annoying, because if I forget, then I have to remove all personal folders, start DJ back up 'barebones', exit, put all the folders back...

This is WILDLY annoying and frustrating...

Yes I only have one version of Java running, not running IE 7, spent the last 2 days trying different things, installing and reinstallling everything but the OS.

This is another problem ... you need some default file or folder in you tree on the same level as Fantasy and Modern ... just don't remember which (and can't look for it here or the next few hours). I know Cecil knows the solution, since he had the same issue with the CSUAC archives in the beginning (if I remember correctly ).
Perhaps you could take a look at how a CSUAC archive is installed ...

Shaman5695,

Please check, to be certain, that you are running the latest version of DJ, version 1.0.5

DJ will identify it's version number on the startup splash screen. You can also find this information on the toolbar under "Help" > "About Dundjinni..."

If you are not running version 1.0.5, download and install it from the link posted below.

Here's a link to the support download page:
http://www.dundjinni.com/info/updates.htm

The folder that Kep mentioned is the "Tokens" folder. You'll find this folder under the "Fantasy" folder level of the file structure.

For the CSUAC, Cecil had to add an "empty" tokens folder under Map\Animal (etc.) that contained only a ~placeholder text file.

Inside the file, it simply says (quotes added):
"This file is a placeholder to prevent lockups"

Now ... here's the interesting part:
I do not have "Tokens" folders in my custom directories, and I've never experienced the problem you are having.
In fact, I just checked again, and no, I do not get the same error.

This would lead me to believe one of two things:

1) that this was a bug in a previous version, and you may not be running with the most recent update, version 1.0.5

Or 2) that you may be referring to the "Animal" and "Humanoid" folders from the CSUAC and they may be placed incorrectly.

These folders should be placed at the same level as the "Fantasy" folder. I.E. they should be placed under the "Map" folder.

Hope this helps,
GTech
