Here is a staircase I tried. The focus was on the worn part of the steps. I also tried a different shadow, but not sure it works. No railings added yet ...

Samples in use ...

Right on!

Thanks Kep.

BTW, I really like how you can see the floor joists between the floor boards.

Thanks Buddy,
GTech

Fantastic Mods Kepli. I really like the seams and pegs. You saved me a ton of time and they probably would not have been as nice as yours. I had tried adding seams but I could not seperate myself from my dislike of the short boards, to me it was more like wood flooring instead of planking. So I figured I would give it a shot with overlays and go back if I had to. Now I don't have to go back.

Out of all, I really like the light tan version it definately pops the under joist, mine was very subtle in the originals and found myself looking very closely to see if it was still there.

Out of curiosity you only did the coloring, seams and pegs right or did you also reorder the set? I am curious because I was concerned that the floor joists would have a strange pattern if brightened. That's me hiding stuff in the shadows.

Thanks again

Grey

I didn't do any reordering, just the seams, pegs and recolouring . I did add different seams to every tile though, so as to prevent too much repetition on those.

Nice steps. The dark colour is probably not optimal to show them off but I love the worn bits.

True ... the tan version might have worked better. But this was a first try. The final versions will be for all the colours and in different shapes (I hope).
Like to know if people like the worn parts and the shadowing like this ...

I added this sample to the Stairs post ...

Excellent mods, Kepli!

I think the shadow on the stairs works well, and is easily erased or covered
up if people prefer to embed the stairs between walls.

I like the reddish wood variant.

that staircase is awsome. Can it be combined to create a longer one?

GT, your mod of the stairs seems to have an odd thing going on with the shadow at the bottom...

Englishkid is right, the shadow was a tough thing to do and will only show up weird on a light background in DJ.

I will create some more version that have different shapes and yes, without the shadow they should be tileable somewhat ... Here is the second staircase without the side shadows on top of each other ...

We could create tileable stairs and separate shadows of course

Yea, I'd love that. What about "corners"? Some stiars do go around a corner and have some sort of landing right? So let's see a wood landing!
