OK, I am feeling pretty stupid, but...

I have a MAC. I installed the 1.0.4 from a disc I bought at a retail store.
It runs but has issues, so I downloaded both the 1.0.5 and 1.0.6 patches.
There is a Mac105.zip file and when I open it it produces a creates an
application called Dunjinni, but without the Dunjinni icon. It is the icon
that has the "A" drawn with a pencil, pen and ruler. There is a
Install_Steps.mac file that when I open it, up pops a quicktime window
that plays nothing (just jumps from beginning to end) when I press the
play. There is a DJinstall folder and a com folder and a few other items
that mean nothing to me (META-INF folder, Installicon.png etc...) When I
open the "Unzipped" Dunjinni file, I get an error message "You cannot
open the application "Dunjinni" because it is damaged or incomplete". I
am not a progammer, nor into technical stuff. I just want to install the
two patches and play with the program. I have read the entries on this
forum and it looks like the resolutions are all for Windows based PC's.
Please, please, please give me a step by step like you did for the windows
users in the other forum.

Thanks loads!

Mark

Hi Mark, welcome aboard

I am not a Mac person myself, but several others here are. Usually Mac users have a lot less problems with installing DJ than WinPC users (I won't go speculate why ).
One of the Mac people will probably be able to help you. My money is on Slash

Moving this to the bugs forum for you ...

A question though ...

If DJ version 1.04 didn't work properly, I doubt patching to 1.05 and 1.06 will have the desired effect of getting a working version. Can you tell us what issues 1.04 had for you? It will definitly help us determine what is wrong.

Never mind, he figured it out already

If you don't mind, I would still like to know what you did wrong, so we can possibly help others in the future who do the same ...

When the patch downloaded it opened a Dundjinni_update_105.jar folder
on my desktop (which is where I set my downloads to go). At some point,
I'm not sure if it was when I clicked on the unzip file in that folder or
when the download happened, it also put a dundjinni_update_105.jar file
on my desktop. I was looking in the .jar folder when it was on my
desktop (which is again the default for my downloads). So I found the .jar
file, clicked on it and low and behold, the installer popped up, took oh...
three seconds... to complete. Now I am up and running. The first time I
launched the program it took about 10 minutes to run, but subsequent
launches have been very quick.

Thanks for the help,
and I am feeling a bit dumb... it was right there, just didn't see it staring
at me.

Ah

BTW the first time took DJ long to start, because it had to "register" all the art it found in the folders. The subsequent times it will only have to do that for new art . Normally that means it is faster. If you add a lot of new art each day, it will always start a little slower (guess what happens to me each time I start DJ )
