I'm not a professional publisher, but would like to share some adventures I've made with my friends. However, just to keep from getting into trouble, I'd like to include the SRD in the final product. Is there a way to do this?

Weird, I thought this question was answered already 
Perhaps that was a similar question in another thread ...
I'll see if I can find it.
What I do know is that the SRD is a free source, so you should not feel forced to add it to your final product.
A good way to include it is adding a link to an online version of the SRD imo.

My understanding has been that if it's open game, you can use it without fear as long as you 1.) contain a copy of the OGL, and 2.) if you're using open game content outside of the SRD, mention it in your credits page, and possibly try to get an official ok (at the least, you can make an "approved by xxx" note somewhere).
Read the Simplified OGL v0.1 and it'll be clearer. (And no, that doesn't count as the official OGL, so you can't include that in products, even though it's legible.)
