Lurking no more, Hawknight has bought Dundjinni and is practicing. Per my hijacking of englishkid's boat in the contest, I had to show my Hawaiian roots with this first map. Had to use Paint to resize for the upload so my apoligies if it looks rough. My thanks to all who posted art that I used.
Any comments/ways to make it better greatly appreciated.

Hmm... pretty good for a first try!
Here's my advice.
The water looks pretty repetitive.
Water changes color depending on its depth, I would put water of a lighter shade around the island, where it's shallower. The contrast with the beach/water is a bit too sharp I think.
The trees also look a bit repetitive. Maybe you could change their orientation so that they look different.
Hope this helps. Keep on mapping!

Nicely done Hawknight
I agree with SoP's advice, especially the trees. Rotate them to get different versions and also scale some on them smaller.
There is also a few more light sand textures for floors in the Wild pack as well

Thanks for the comments
I have downloaded lots of palm trees, but could not get the program to recognize them. Then, 5 minutes after posting the map, I renamed them and lo and behold they worked. I used the shallow water from Wild to do the water for everything as this was a practice map. I'm ordering Modern Streets this weekend and will be playing with that.

Sounds to me like the trees were named -a, -b, etc. and you didn't put them in a Cover folder (a folder that contains the Cover ~properties file)

Nice map! I agree with all the above comments, but I would also suggest to work a bit on the coastline... Have you tried the "Draw Curves" tool?
