I only have seven acres, I think a herd is out of the question!! My wife's first horse was a quarter horse. He was pretty nice, brought him with us from South Dakota. So you have a herd huh? Where are you from Tim? Midwest somewhere is my guess!

Right now we are in Colorado but the horses we bought are up in South Dakota at Jen's family farm. They will stay there until they are 2 yrs old. Hopefully by that time we will have our own facilities down here so Jen can train them.

I was stationed over at Camp Smith. More officers there then enlisted. I once heard the average rank was Major. Not a bad place to live aye! Best place to be single too I think :)

Is it just a coincidence that you were all in the army? Or is being in the army something encouraged in the States?
I know where I come from going in the army isn't exactly popular.

They were in the Marine Corps, not the Army.

I would say that the government certainly encourages military service. And the general public looks at it as an honorable and necessary occupation, even if the general politics of war are not agreed upon.
9/11 also really impacted the "popularity" of serving.
ahh Kep you're setting yourself up there. The branches of the American military are quite "competitve" - they think of themselves as very distinct entites. I think it's an American thing.
