If you go that route, try Fractal Mapper 8 first. You'll find that it can do just about everything that CC can on a raster level, it can do some things that CC can't, and it's about as easy to use as Dundjinni. Best of all, you can download the trial version and the full manual free. The trial version is the full version with file saves crippled. It also has less symbols than the full version, but that's no problem, because the DJ user symbols work well in FM8. You also will find that the combination of DJ and FM8 will give you the best of all mapping and dungeon layout worlds.

What make Dundjinni important for me is that it works on Mac OS X, most
other mapping softwares out there are Windows only.

I just found out about this in an email from a different mailing list. Losing DJ would be a huge loss to the gaming community. Whatever the reasons and the results may end up being, I humbly suggest you not close shop without giving fans a real explanation, even if it's one that's painful. Closure is so rarely given out these days. I hope a way can be found to save DJ.

I can sympathize with you! I don't know what experiences people are having with CC3 under LINUX or Mac OSX with emulators, but Fractal Mapper 8 users are getting excellent results running it in LINUX with WINE, However, the prime effort - if there's one that we can make at all - should be to keep Dundjinni going!
As Varl stated, it would be nice if loyal customers could get some official word on what's up.

I'm also a Mac user and would love an update for DJ.
It is ridiculous that this site hasn't been updated in years, yet they are still
happy to take peoples money, without any official support.
The fans here are the only thing keeping Dj going, so perhaps they should
be given the opportunity to take over the project.
I'll look at FP 8 under VM fusion and see if that gives me what I need.

So here's a question... Would the current owner(s) of Dundjinni consider selling the company?

That's what I'm wondering as well. Although, not the company but the "license" to Dundjinni. I'm sure some of us are programmers whether as a hobby or a career and would like to take a project like this on in the future. Can we create our own version of Dundjinni 2?
I've had ideas for Dundjinni if Dundjinni 2 were to ever come out, for example faster rendering and searchable textures.
