So, I won't be able to use DJ until *after* the patch comes out (since I need to have the most current version of Java installed)?

Is that, like, soon - only I have some deadlines to meet and I was told DJ was the best thing to use. This is a really disappointing start because it's not usable in the form I've purchased and I was expecting great things from it based on what I've seen and heard...

I also hope the patch is released soon ... and it should be from the last news I heard.
Unfortunately we were not able to create a solution for the Java bug on shorter notice, but we do understand and know it has created unworkable situations for some people. It would also have been better if SUN had never introduced the bug into Java, but that still doesn't change the current situation.

Thank you

Does DJ clash with other mapping programs as far as you are aware - especially if I don't have them running at the same time? There was one other that was recommended - I chose DJ instead, but the other might do as an interim until the problem is fixed.

My only other option is to map in Word, or to hand draw and then use a scanner - both are slow, tedious and don't produce the quality result I'm looking for.

I'm guessing you don't have a timeline for the patch, but if you have any other suggestions for an alternative that would serve in the meantime, it would be appreciated.

Perhaps you could experiment with DungeonForge/Map X, which is free and
uses PNG art just like DJ does.

Maybe it could tide you over until the patch arrives.

AFAIK, DJ doesn't clash with other mapping programs, unless they require a
newer version of Java be installed.

Thank you for that.

I'll give it a go... and look forward to hearing when the patch is ready... and the 2.0 upgrade :-)

Of course. The compatibility with CC3 has nothing to do with Java, but with the fact that CC3 now supports png-images. That means you can use all user-art on here in CC3 too.

DJ2 won't be using Java, huh? What will it use instead? Are we losing Mac-
compatability?

No you wont loose Mac-compatibility (I read this somewhere in the forums)
Dont worry they dont want to loose their Mac client just because of a new "scipt language"
