Java won't be used and the Mac will still be supported. Two pluses.

QT from Trolltech could get the job done fairly easily and is cross platform C++ or also Java. That's my guess on what it'll be coded in anyway.

Heh, C++ would take a bit of effort, and they won't be using Java anymore. (It'll be fun to be able to use a version of java that was produced *after* the war, really. )
In my nightmares, it'll be something like python, with wxwidgets and stuff. After which they find some bugs in it, which makes it a security risk. But you can't update, because that'll break Dundjinni. I usually wake up screaming at that point.

So Since we have not had a update lately...
Where do we stand on the DJ2.0 Version?
Alive and Well
Alive but barely with a pulse
Dead but we can jump start it possibly with CPR
Dead and Buried, you missed the Funeral

The design of DJ2 is ready (although I expect we will do a few updates ); development starts after the patch has been released. Making the patch is also a test for the new company Mindy hired. Sofar it looks pretty good

I can help with the spec/design of the adventure part, as both print layout and data management are within my range.
The adventure printing system should be a significant integral part of v2, as the coordination of the adventure with the maps is the one feature that really sets DJ apart from other systems. Doing the mapping system without the adventure part being considered in the design of each component will be problematic.
BTW, need to get some hooks into WotC about the 4eSRD and make sure the design of the adventure system will be open enough to accommodate 4e and future rule sets.
