Ok As Kepli and Blu will tell you I was quite roof obsessed a while back (slate roof especially). So I think I have managed to do a reasonably simple roof.

What I have discovered is that they can be quite easy if you have a 3d program (Rhino, Hexagon or Wings3d {excellent free program by the way}) and Vue6 (you need that for the tile ecosystem but I have know doubt that you can UV map to get around that)

So, what Im saying is, is there anybody that would like a tutorial, or just plain more houses?

Can also do different coloured tiles.

Cheers

Ae

Details look great! I'm a noob to UV mapping so any advice/tutorial you can give on that would be great (especially in hexagon which I just picked up, and find utterly opaque). Guess I'd like both the tutorial and just plain more houses, and stables, and barns, and towers, and markets, and...

Very nice AE, the only comment I would make is that the roof is darker on one side then the other on each section but you have a direct drop down shadow. Really like the roof texture you used.
I see that you rendered this in the main view because of the roof side angles. If you want to get rid of that effect, render in the top view, window maxed out and set quick render up high then save that rendered view. It will give you a flat top down look.

Will try that way Blu (but tomorrow - bed is calling)

but as the same way as above - a very simple house....

Don't give me too much credit. You're making these on your own for the most part... I'm just tinkering with models I bought. Great job!

These are sweet. Great for my top down back alley gang brawl map that I am getting ready to start.

I agree. I like the ISO files for doing a cut up of a city, but then building a battle map of a city area these work perfect.

If there are other files like these that I am missing that are already posted I would love a link to them.

You've probably already seen Hylas' roofs. But maybe you haven't seen these:
