Okay, instead of just stealing off these forums and begging people to create creatures for me, I've decided to try a little photoshopping, and patch together a simple warden archon (an armoured celestial bear, from the D&D Book of Exalted Deeds). All the pieces were stolen from these forums, I cannot remember the creators, but you probably know who you are and can take credit if you feel like it. These are the results:

In full armour, helmet and all:

A version without the helmet:

Comments or suggestions on how I can do it better?

That's a very decent job oistene

Seems the bear itself doesn't have a shadow, while the armour has. Try removing the pieces of shadow from the endresults and add a complete shadow to the whole

Okay, taking the shadow out is easy enough, but how to add a new one? I can't tell if it isn't possible with Photoshop Elements 2.0, or it is just me that is stupid.

Nice ... now you only need to leave the "distance" on zero. That way the shdaow will be equally big to all sides

Good ...

One last tip: try a little darker shadow

More like this guy?

I also tried adding some bevel to the armour, not sure if it makes it look more realistic or not. Hmm, I also notice now that some of the shadow disappears out of the picture, better try to fix that.

I created a set of six different variants, hopefully with shadows that work a bit better.

A .zip of all six variants:
82A_warden_archons_ois.zip

I've also been toying with creating more variants, but I've not managed to produce anything which looks good yet. I might keep trying, though!

Very nice work ... and this shadow does look better to me. We need to see it in DJ to make the final judgement though
